I will start by saying I have a 30gal tank and a 10gal sump/refugium. After some time I’ve accumulated some fish and I think I might be at my max. Wanted a masters opinion or something along that line haha. I have 2- 3inch fire fish gobys, 1- 2.5inch clown, 1- 1.5inch clown, 1- 3 inch Benny, 1- 2inch cardinal, and 1- 2inch shrimp. Along with around 4-6 hermit craps(quite a few) and 2 emerald craps for the clean up crew.

Im no master but if you got 8 fish i think thats plenty for a 30 g imo.
Ive got a 80 gallon but my stock going to be 10 fish.some small 3- 5 inch and couple 4- 7 inch and i think i will be maxed out so you at 8 in a 30 g i personally dont think adding more good idea but could do if got means to keep nutrients and waste etc under control from that bio load i guess

Accounting for room for growth, you are pretty much at capacity for fish

Thanks for the input honestly throughout the day there’s a lot of movement and it’s perfect!

I don’t know much more I could add. A lot of fish aren’t reef safe! Also 30gal is just not enough for most fish haha

Lots movement is good.
What im trying to achieve is some fish for sand, some for the rocks and algae, some for activity swimming in open water and algae, some for activity and pests if needed and one for just swimming activity, and off cpurse daughter wanted nemo so we got 2 clowns named nemo mum and dad ( coral and marlin lol ) so they all got a job kind of thing and sounds like your fish are in different levels so good ^_^
Maybe you could add few snails for activity and give them a job and cleaner shrimp?

I had a a turbo snail but my clean up crew is so massive already (7hermits and 2emerald crabs) he didn’t make it. But I do have a cleaner shrimp and I thought about a sand sifter for my sand but I have the blenny that just doesn’t do the job haha.

My gold streaked blennie ( think other name is one spot ) hid for 5 days and now always active flicking his head in a comical way eating algae from rocks,he so good that next fish i get going be bi colour blennie and hopefully does the same.
Why didnt the snail make it ?
Just sensitive and died or not enough for him to clean up or got eaten other option i guess?

He sat in the bottom corner of my tank for 2 days I thought he was just waiting for build up or maybe he cleaned at night but one day I came home to 5 hermits around the shell and the other 2 on the way so I assume he didn’t have enough but now I have more fish so I think I could give it a go! It’s so fun being a aquariumist haha

Yes definately fun and im only 4 months into mine but get so interested watching all different behaviours, like my goby chases the wrasse away as getting to close to pistol entrance and wrasse and blennie seem best mates so blennie swims above my goby trying to wind goby up i think then quickly swims towards goby and goby only got to move his head and blennie gets scared and scarpers back into rock work other side of tank and other night had to save a hermit as a urchin picked him up and hermit just dangling and couldnt get off lol

That’s very cool I really want an urchin but I think I’m in over my head. Not sure what blenny I have I think it’s a dragnet but he sure does move all around the tank rocks all day and later in the day he runs in the sand but just constantly moving and the fire fish have claimed there area but the clowns are so dominant that they usually eat the most during feeding time lol

Yeah my clowns i got them under a inch size and now inch and half maybe.anytime i put hands in tank they straight over biting my hand lol and feeding time the clowns defo make sure get their food but sometimes the dominant one chases other away lol.
They dont hang out with each other most of day but sleep together at night.
I got 2 tuxedo urchins when i beefed up my cuc as im seeing which algae stage i going through so got tuxedos as read there most useful for eating the stuff off rocks and they cleaned all the red/ brown diatoms off rock nearly and now few stages on and at the rocks going green but they keeping it in check so far but if starts going wrong i will buy more cuc as nerded.
I keep thinking need get something for tank but theres to much lol
Need fish
Possible cuc
Some easy soft corals for colour and flow
Want piece proper live rock
Possibly cheato/ light in sump
Thinking buying pods but read no point as they come on frags and nearly impossible to keep out tank
So im like what i buy next ha ha ?
Someone correct me if im wrong but think you could get an urchin ( providing enough for him to eat, when tank gets like it needs be unless there now) wont add much to the bio load.
How about pistol shrimp to go with your goby?
Actually you saying maybe dragonet sorry
