I want to get a fish that doesn't hide because my hi fin goby hides all day long and only comes out for feeding once every few days so my misbar clownfish is the only one that swims around in the tank. Will rainfordi gobies hide? Can they stay together with clownfish and hi fin gobies?

They are definitely not the most active fish. They hide like all fish, but they tend to stay near the spot they call home (IME). They are compatible with the fish you currently have.

I have a rainford goby along with a small pair of clownfish and a blue neon goby. They are living fine together. Rainford goby is out swimming around the rock all the time, not hiding, but it would not swimming in the open like clownfish.

You could get a Tail Spot blenny. They have real character and mine is active all day every day. He eats algae too.

thanks. I will consider that. any other suggestions?
neon gobies and tail spot blennies are underrated, but the most active fish for a 20g are clownfish and smaller wrasses. I could also recommend dottybacks and Banggai cardinals, but you'd have to understand that dottybacks are nasty and must be added last.

What are the tank's dimensions?

Tried a dottyback before, killed my cleaner shrimp. Removed it right away.

Mine is out and active pretty much all day. He is a Biota captive bred, not sure how much difference that makes but enjoys spending a lot of time swimming side by side and hunting pods with my pink streaked wrasse.

may consider a rainfordi goby then. thank you!

These two are best buds, around the rocks all day picking at algae.
