Do you use mechenical filtration-such as filter floss, polyfilter, etc.?

lol, ya know theres a million ways to skin the cat;)
And Foxx, you know the next thing Im gonna say. REFUGIUM:D
You preach that a lot!! One of these days I might do it lol Not until nutrients become an issue lol Or at least not until I can't correct nutrient issues. :D

brief my .02.
A skimmer and lr depends on healthy bacteria to rot the food, the skimmer pulls some of that out, w some floss in the hob aquaclear I found that i didnt have to wait quite so long and had less nutrient build up.
the $13 hob fuge grew my chato and provided another means of nutrient export besides WC.
Still a KISS.

I do. My first 5 6 years were in sumpless tanks. I really saw visual difference in mainly how fast the glass went green. And I never really got cyano.
being sumpless too led me to DSB as well. But I dont preach that in sumpless, I preach shallow sand and Vacuum:D

I use a 200 micron filter sock during maintenance and then a mesh sock so I don't have to change as often. Keeps the big stuff out of the DT.

My 20 gallon is sumpless, skimmerless, and without refugium. No cyano in almost 2 years

Just 60lbs of rocks.[emoji51]
itll be fun. Just watch the coral. Be careful how your feeding.
My lil 30 now is 3 fish only.
Im honestly thinking about an sps dominant planted tank. (mainly cuz my tunze skimmer dust died )

Well.. I could probably do another fish or two. However, as the tank gets older the nutrients increase. So yes, in a sense it's balanced. That said, the tank was suppose to be torn down 5 months ago. The one fish, a six line wrasse, helps keep pests at bay. :)

My diy poly filter sponge sock-ish filter stick thingy . Hahaha
