Does anyone dose ammonia and/or how would one try?

would anyone with a seneye dose one mil of 3% per ten gallons and lets track if nitrification is affected one iota

this data is missing from all of reefing by the way. Dont begin peroxide dosing if you don’t already use it whenev

but if someone has already used it and owns a seneye we could really use that data. Remember the known sensitives are lysmata shrimp (killed) and anemones get mad when it’s dosed. all else is tolerant in systems that have already dosed it. We have never been able to measure nitrification impacts during its effective window estimated to be 3-4 hours after dosing.
Sure I’ve dosed hydrogen peroxide before. I’ll report back in the morning.

Jon excellent thanks tons!

Ok I dosed 13ml into the return pump at 9:00pm.

Jon to me that is profound info. I know to others it may not be but I have not seen proof of what we intuited in 2011 until just now thank you tons

Jon how did you wrestle the coral loss back into control and resume strong growth like that, a few mos ago it was heartbreaking to see the sps in challenge but it’s back strong now

one question

what made the measures bump into hundredths there/ clue where it says 9/4/21

if that was when you dosed perox I have ten posts I’ll need to edit before the sun comes up he he

Peroxide did not move the ammonia up at all it actually dropped a thousandth. The bump of ammonia is me dosing ammonium chloride. Coral loss stopped with in tank treatment with Cipro witch didn’t impact ammonia. Just finished three rounds of interceptor too.

Oh gosh good I was already editing my them apples speeches for reefcentral ok nice

the meter you have and have maintained simply shows the finest detail on filter experiments, well done

For this last week I’ve been dosing ammonium chloride .5ml three times a day. My No3 has gone up a little but phosphate has dropped and ALK consumption has increased.

Hi Jon. Have you any algae growing in the system. I see a few tanks to the left but don’t know if they are attached to the system, just curious, cheers.

Yes the tank on the left is the refugium running lights 24/7. Macros are growing but just this week with the extra ammonium the DT glass algae has gone from diatoms to a green dust.

The dropping of the extra .001 might be due to a minor short term benefit from the dose: nitrifying bacteria like oxygen

if it turns out that dosing peroxide helps bacteria temporarily my laugh will be so deep, so guttural, I will not be able to process the info.

I’ve got a question, where does most of the ammonia come from in a mature tank? Is it fish or all the bugs and worms?

And collective respiration totals for the tank, living animals excrete it due to their nutrient extraction process

Digesting proteins anywhere in the chain is a source. I wouldn't be surprised in organic chemistry if there were other production pathways beyond biotic ones but not sure.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention my ammonium chloride dose yesterday morning after the hydrogen peroxide went as normal.

hey nice follow up, one after the fact to chart baseline status well done. Cant wait to show thereeftank.com your findings I like to help them try and boost up forum speed a little by showing them the lighting-fast discoveries made over here at rc. They're rtr friendly, could use a boost yep.

Jon I have an idea but its such a controversial test lol I better message it. sent. has to do with finding lethality levels associated with nh3

Not happy with the results of filling the Oyxdator. I haven’t dosed any ammonium chloride since I filled it. Ammonia goes up and down but never back to 0.001.

What were you wanting the oxydator to do?

Your concern is that ammonia is higher with it?
