Plenty of folks use the BRS units. I'd like to suggest you take a look at the link below. This is a great unit and actually comes with your first set of replacement filters and a TDS meter.

I've been using a brs ro/di for over 3 years with zero issues. I highly doubt if you're having issues with SPS is due to the brand of your Ro/di.
Are you on city water or well water? At what pressure is your unit operating and are you testing the tds levels of your output water. Also in what type of container are you storing your product water?
These are some of my SPS grown from 1" frags using water made with a BRS 4 stage unit.

Should be no problem. sometimes people don't realize how different filters and membranes are from different companies. there's a reason why you'll never see brs compare theirs to spectrapure.

There's a reason why you don't see Spectrapure compare theirs to DOW either, because it's a copy of their 75 gal. membrane and that's the 99% Spectrapure. DOW's probably been making RO membranes longer than Spectrapure existed.Should be no problem. sometimes people don't realize how different filters and membranes are from different companies. there's a reason why you'll never see brs compare theirs to spectrapure.
I was just told that DOW actually manufactures the membrane for Sprectrapure. DOW makes 95% of the worlds RO membranes and many are sold to be "rebranded". So basically, you are getting just as good a quality item. BRS clearly indicated in the video the only difference in 75gpd and 90gpd is pressure and temperature, same membrane different ratings because one is inflated. A 75 gpd will produce exactly the same as a 90gpd at the same pressure and temperature.
BRS rates the RO at 75gpd because 50psi is typical for house hold tap water pressure. But 90gpd is rated for 60psi, above what you typically see in a home.

I use a BRS 4 stage 65 GPD RO/DI unit and love it. I have TDS reading before and after the DI and always have 0 TDS. I would recommend.
BRS does use Dow Filmtec membranes but there is huge difference and one that saves you a ton of money over the life of your RO/DI system.
Spectrapure specially treats ALL their RO membranes with a proprietary process which is proven to increase the performance. They then go the extra step to either batch test or undividually hand test the membranes depending on if they are their normal or select series for quality control. BRS membranes are dry, off the shelf and untreated and untested so you take your chances.
This is important since as little as a 2% improvement in rejection rate doubles the life of your DI resin. Spectrapure also custom blends every ounce of their own DI resins which again lasts much longer, up to 3 times or more than other vendors.
Go with the innovator in the industry not an imitator. They have been #1 in the industry for over 30 years for a reason. There really is a difference and it not only saves you money but gives you true 18.2 megaohm resistivity pure water.

Most housings are universal and use standard 10" filters.
I find spectrapure cheaper than BRS.
For example
75gpd value system from BRS is 149.99
90gpd system from spectrapure is 159.99 ( this includes tds meter, chloramine test kit, and a set of replacement filters) the BRS unit does not come with any of these extras.
Can you explain how BRS is cheaper?
