Does noise affect fish or inverts?

Cant see the video could you upload it to youtube

Off topic but does anybody else’s clownfish basically get half their body out of the water and swim sideways at the top. If had 4 clownfish that do this in the past 6-7 years.

My Flameback Angel kept circling my Crossflow Wave Pump, took it out and gave the body a good brushing and it stopped doing that. I think it was make a noise that irritated it.

Like OrchidMiss stated above, I crank metal as well on the daily and much of the same artists she lists. With a powered sub (one of two) not three ft under my tank and it has never seemed to affect it. I have always wondered if the low end frequency or vibration had any affect one way or the other tbh.

Sounds great, i read that sharks are actually atracted to metal music. I forget where but scientists played different types of music and then when they played Slayer, great white sharks swam towards the speaker.
I believe I heard that this is true and it happens because underwater metal sounds like a dying fish to them.... Which I guess is kind of appropriate...

It's a question that's been asked a bunch and a pretty easy test would be to get something with a waterproof microphone and see what it actually sounds like in there.

It's loud. The pumps and water noise is pretty considerable, so it's loud enough to pretty much blot out most of the noise you can make near the tank. Fish can definitely hear and react to sound (mine will occasionally jump at the pistol shrimp doing its thing), but nothing normal volume is going to get through the glass and the water (significant low pass filter) in a significant enough way to sound like much.

I crank metal in my house on the daily.
Amon Amarth, Opeth, Nightwish, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Slayer, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse... they all see to enjoy it. Then again, many of my fish are named after metal musicians.
It's funny as I never play music outload in case it annoys my fish hahaha

Noise pollution can have negative effects on animals in our systems.
