Was that last post the stand you are going to get from the Handy man?Guys??
Yes kindaWas that last post the stand you are going to get from the Handy man?
The colored computer model all over this post shows you the minimum support your tank needs. The top frame work needs full support on all corners from 2/4s not screws. Look at the purple boards. The frame work rest on these putting the load on them. If what you are getting doesn't do this it will failYes kinda
I already have a particle board stand from petsmart-is this better? Same size, not sealed obviously. The colored computer model all over this post shows you the minimum support your tank needs. No! Do you have a miter saw?I already have a particle board stand from petsmart-is this better? Same size, not sealed obviously.
Haha for what? To cut it and get rid of it? What wrong with it? Ive read a lot of people saying its alright...No! Do you have a miter saw?
The saw is so you can build the stand your self. Particle board is garbage. Just because some one tells you it's alright don't make it so. Go read the reviews.Haha for what? To cut it and get rid of it? What wrong with it? Ive read a lot of people saying its alright...
"It seems"... I haven't and I'm not even close yet, I am still getting a few new answers mate smhThe saw is so you can build the stand your self. Particle board is garbage. We have all tried to help you but it seems you will make up your own mind so make your decision stop waisting our time
Consider what happens to particle board when it gets wet. Not something I would trust to support a full tank. JMOI already have a particle board stand from petsmart-is this better? Same size, not sealed obviously.
You mean you don’t study rocketology?!?!?? My bad @RocketEngineerConsider what happens to particle board when it gets wet. Not something I would trust to support a full tank. JMO
And @C4ctus99, I’m an engineer, not a scientist.![]()
Nope, I just write instructions and make sure stuff works correctly. You mean you don’t study rocketology?!?!?? My bad @RocketEngineer![]()
Gotcha. I’m the electrician who’s always complaining about engineersNope, I just write instructions and make sure stuff works correctly.
Agree top stand is better as-is, but I would probably take the bottom and add some vertical supports to it on what I assume is the back, facing us. If you look it appears the front (other side) has verticals, likely due to lack of center support.
Here's the stand I threw together for my 55 (it is overkill):

That stand could hold up your entire house. Talk about overkill - you could have made two or three stands with that much wood and still have some left over.
I bet it does! You even mitered the corners, which serves no purpose at all other than looking amazing. True mark of craftsmanship there.Had wood, love overkill, stand works great![]()
