hahaaha i wish but she is turning around. ive been trying to get her a coral only tank(aka my frag tank lol) for the past 3 months hopefully she will turn around

lol she is ok with it.........as long as I control my spending. I tried to get her hook in this hobby. Went out bought her a tank, nem, mushrooms, she loved them fro a week then slowly I ended up with another tank I was keep up with lol

I can so relate. My husband shows no interest in it what so ever, but when friends visit he become the expert reefer. Every once in awhile he'll ask what exactly I have tied up in it and I always tell him a couple hundred or so.... :wink:

My husband is not a fan. He claims all of his money goes to bills and mine goes to the fish tank. I don't see anything wrong with that. :angel:

yeah she does. i do all the daily tank care and stuff but she is fully capable of doing it and also has an equal say in purchases although she usually says get it if you want to. she took great care of the tank while i was over seas for over a year

I try to convince my wife that everything I get is a $10 or $20 frag and she still thinks that too much time & money goes into the tank. She enjoys looking at it for about 5 minutes a day, but that's enough to her.

We have been married for almost 34 years and figured out a long time ago that it does no good to dislike something about the other. She tolerates my reefkeeping, and a lot of other things about me, just as I tolerate some things about her that I don't care for. We never deny each other anything financially because we want something else for ourselves so there are no hard feelings. She is even kind enough to occasionally show some interest by asking me questions about something in the tank, come to a club meeting or even make a trip to an LFS and ask if we can keep this or that pretty coral in the tank. I do know several couples who are equally into the hobby and it is good that they share the interest. I also know some lady reefers whose husbands show little interest but still spend a lot of time bulding stands, plumbing tanks and running more electricity to the fish room because they love their wives and it makes them happy.

My wife and son are the ones that bought our aquarium from a guy that services aquariums. He maitained it for a year and then I had to teach myself to be a marine biologist so I could take it over. Now I enjoy it but when I have to spend money on it , which is every single day, I just tell her it was her idea in the first place.
No hesitation as I tossed her extra frags for free, im shameless at times :xd:

I am kind of glad my wife isn't as obsessed with this hobby and doesn't keep up with prices. We were at the LFS and on display there was a nice black long nose tang. I told her that is the next fish i want and she said OK I started to feel a little guilty and told her about how much that fish runs. She looked at me like I was crazy.

Never really answered, but my g/f doesn't really care for it, but does like looking at it. She thinks all the corals look the same, esp zoas and SPS. If she only knew how much money I spent on it, she'd blow her top. haha. Most of my corals were "only like 30 bucks or something" haha.
She does want a tank with a porcupine puffer in it, as thats her favorite fish. Its took bad they aren't reef safe, as I'd put one in to keep her happy.

My wife says she loves it, she loves feeding the fish, loves finding "aliens", loves that I love it, loves that it helps put the crying nephews to sleep....that being said, she hates rescuing corals that tip over(if she notices them), hates when i spend money on them, hates when I spend 24hrs in the "fish room", hates the ever growing collection of tanks and equipment in the garage, Hates when I spill water on the carpet.
Its a love hate relationship
