Don't get sucked in by all the hype of SPRING and SUMMER!

Yes it's warming up and getting to be beautiful outside again but don't fall for it! Sure go out and enjoy the outside but don't forget about your glass box friend who has been with you through the cold days of winter! :)

Just a short list:

1. Don't get caught up and see your tank because "you want to spend more time outside." It will get cold again.

2. Don't neglect your tank because your spending less time in the house. Autopilot is "ok" for certain things but don't forget your little finned buddies who need you!

3. CASH in on the deals where the "weak ones" are getting out as well as the warm weather deals vendors will be offering.

Come WINTER your tank could be looking like this...

Anything else we should add to the list?

If ordering online pick up your box at the depot if it's really hot! I lost a couple fish last year in summer that were left on the truck on a hot stretch of days with the cooling pack busted. Never again...

HA! Yes stay strong!

I'm already seeing the deals from the weak ones and it's great.my 16ft sps only tank will be ready in no time.god bless them

I would like to invest in a cooling system this year. Any recommendations? Thanks

Did you mean "Don't get caught up and SELL your tank...." ?

Now is a good time to start thinking about how you plan on keeping your tanks cool so you don't end up with a "fish fry". Make sure your chillers and/or fans are in good working order.

Great write up rev! It def hits the nail on the head, even the most devoted reef head tends to slip a bit in the warmer weather months. Unless you of course live where it's warm all year lol

The JBJ Artica chiller is the best invested for cooling my tank that I've made. Keeps the main tank temp within about 1.5 F of what I set it at no matter what the room temp is.

I have the same chiller still sitting in the box. How did you set yours up? Hooked to. Controller? I guess I'm just curious on how to set it up with heater etc to keep a constant temp.
