DORSO OVERFLOW

Personally, I never liked any over the top type of overflows. It seems they always slowly get air up in the top of them and flow slows. Eventually, they will flow less than the return pumps, and overflow the tank. I even got a big U pipe with a port for an aqualifter, to try and continually suck the air out of it...which just gave me another rproblem… because aqualifters are complete garbage and have to be cleaned all the time.

I won't have another tank without three pipes out of the overflow...one for main siphon, one for secondary, and one for emergency. I enjoy complete silence, and 850gph flow rates.
The OP doesn't have that type either. We are just explaining to have the return over the top so he could run the Herbie style. Not sure if misunderstood so just explaining the thread.

Ok the tank has been running test water for 4 days with the Herby style overflow. First no leaks WOOHOO. Second no noise or very little but thats expected with running water, but I am able to sit right next to the tank and watch TV with no issues. Glade I went this way. Thanks for the help with the decision.

Glad you went Herbie, it is the best decision you could have made. I also converted my 90 same as everyone return over the top because my 45 had a durso and no matter what I couldn't get it quiet.
