Dosing 2-part + kalk?

Aeration with outside air containing normal CO2 levels would have a much, much stronger effect than what you are doing now (see graphs in earlier link) and carries no risk at all.

Shouldn't be impossible and it would be a permanent solution too.

Any chance your skimmer is in a fairly well-sealed stand with the sump?

Check out this graph from the article linked a couple posts back.

It shows how high you are likely going to have to take alkalinity to affect the pH change you are looking for if you do nothing about the CO2 level. Alkalinity is quite high and still leaves the pH on the low side by just using alkalinity alone.

Thought I update

I installed a new pH probe and calibrated it. I'm also running a co2 scrubber and I also drilled a small hole on my door (which we don't use) for the airline to my skimmer. The tank is right next to the door, so distance is no problem. Now, my pH is reading 8.5! So I'm gonna back off my kalk dosing by 150ml from 580ml and see what it reads tomorrow. Basically I'm aiming for 8.2-8.4 range. Everything's looking good so far and parameters are straight.

Great to hear - thanks for posting back! :)

Once things are stabilized, it would be interesting to try removing the CO2 scrubber to see if the fresh outside air by itself is enough to give you a corrected pH.

Good luck!
