Dosing pumps

In the market for one too, I feel like I've over analyzed the info out there to death though and I can't decide on one. Every time I go cheaper on something even if it has good reviews I end up with a bad one.

People need to stop saying the Kore is awesome... Unless your accompanying your praise with a 10% off coupon, I just can't spend that much. Lol

has anyone heard anything about the GHL ProfiLux Doser 2 than was just realeased a few months ago? haven't read much about its performance, but on paper it sounds like a solid doser. am interested in purchasing one, but without any reviews i am holding off

I use the Marine Magic. It operates a little differently to some others. Instead of setting ml to dose it sets a time in sec to dose, Apparently when dosing pumps start to wear the ml can become very inaccurate over time. so the sec setting can be changed at any time to compensate for the wear on the pump itself. (dont understand that myself but was written about a lot in reviews I found)
It was very well priced, easy to set and have had no issues with it at all.

I tried to return the one I bought but Aquacave won't take it back because it's been more than 30 days. Huge mistake on their part $$$ as I spend way too much on this hobby but won't ever drop a dime there again. First off it does't work with Mac unless you do bootleg. there is no iPhone app. You have to go to the GHL website to download the software and then hope that the computer recognizes the doser, mine did not. Something that costs almost $500 should be plug and play, this is not. Don't waste your money.

I had a Kamoer dosing pump that had been perfect for the past 6 months. I have a Dos now and it's been rock solid too. No idea why I bought the Dos as the Kamoer has been great, lol!

can anyone post any photos of how they have their dosing pumps hooked up? I need some ideas how to hook one up

I just picked up GHL Doser 2, I looked at the Pacific Sun but was turned off by the 180 page thread on reefcentral dedicated to firmware updates. GHL Doser 2 has had 2 firmware revs since it came out and has gotten great reviews. I just got this and setup last night, and yes you do need a pc with usb cable to get setup initially then you can setup wifi and setup program on pc to connect through wifi. If you arent PC savy, then you could have issues getting firmware upgraded. The software does easily let you calibrate each channel, so you are sure what your exact flow rate is with the liquid and tubing arrangement you are using. Anyways, I think its a great unit, was kind of pricy but hey, what isn't pricy in this hobby. I like the idea that I can easily log into it and change the daily dose amount up or down and have it adjust the schedules (up to 150 dosing times a day) automatically and amount needing to be dosed per dosing.

Also, I am an iphone guy and they have posted screenshots of the iphone app on their forum, its coming soon, likely within the next month. Once that comes in, I will be dialed in!!! Can't wait.

Good to know about the Mac issue, thanks.

Ordered the Kamoer 4 head unit. Passed on the Eshopps cuz there's no reviews, even though I was tempted DRFS $10 GC for every $50 spent.

I was worried when I saw that thread as well but after reading it and seeing the way Pacific Sun quickly responds to customer suggestions to improve their software I was sold. When there is an issue with the software or firmware they are quick to address those as well. I wish a lot of other companies worked with their customers to enhance and address issues with their products the way Pacific Sun does.

Jebao dp 4 awesome pump and its a great price you can find them just under 100 bucks on eBay and has 4 pumps on it
