Dosing pumps

Are you looking for a “smart” pump or just something to get the job done? I have the jeabo DP-4 and it works great for what it is and it’s not overly expensive!
As well, this doser has been excellent, I run two of the DP-4 and dose eight items.
Has not missed a beat in 30 months now.

I have to say that the Ecotech Versa is your best bet for accuracy and reliability. Soon... Very soon, Ecotech will be releasing their version of precision dosing. I've been lucky enough to have one to test and it will dose as little as 0.5μL (That's 1 millionth of a liter) on up. Not sure who would use it for that precise dosing, but if you need to, the versa will do it.

The great thing about the versa is that it is versatile in that it will precision dose to what ever the users needs are and if you end up going the way of a calcium reactor it will continually dose up to 200ml/min.

That's what makes this dosing pump different than all the rest. Instead of using software to control on time of an electric motor like the x1, bubble magus, brs, (that will eventually lose accuracy) the Versa uses a stepper motor which is a more precise way of handling the task.

They will offer the pump in single units as well as a "quad pack" that will meet any of your dosing needs, auto water changes, auto top off, 2 part dosing, trace element dosing... basically anything that you can think of the versa will do it.

And the beauty of it is the price point will be lower than any pump that offers the same capabilities. Well worth the wait, if you ask me.

Versa look promising, but I never buy new release products, I'll let others test the reliability and initial problems a product might have, specially since ecotech is not a dosing pump manufacturer.

Fair enough, what would be some concerns?

I personally like the fact that Ecotech is the only manufacturer that took the initiative to actually design a dosing pump from the ground up specifically for this hobby. They didn't use stock components, slap their name on it and hope for the best. They had complete control of every aspect of the design, the shape and dimensions of the stepper motor, the specific motor windings, material choice best suited for saltwater environment, the perfect geometric relationships of components, the gear reduction, the software... and the list can go on. I challenge anyone to come up with a company that designed a dosing pump with as much thought. I wish that they would hurry up and release them so you guys can see why I'm so impressed with it.
