If I were to use 1 inch pipes and 3 quarter inch returns, would that work on a 220 gallon, 3500 gph overflow, 3645 return pump? Also what size bulkheads would I need if that would work?

We went to a store that told us that some brands have sides and bottoms made of both. So I would make sure that they know exactly where you want to drill. We took ours to that store and they did it for us. Both of our tanks have been drilled, one is acrylic and one is glass.
Yes, If you run it lower on a rimmed tank your water line will show. The way I did it the water line goes all the way up to the rim.
What do you reccomend I plan on it touching the top seal like yours, is there any problem having it in the middle of the tank?
I bought the overflow seperate, DIY, planning on doing a be an animal setup, my overflow does not have holes in it. Does that mean I will need to drill holes in it the same size as the ones in the tank? I need 3 holes for be an animal setup.
No problem at all. I put mine off to the side to make my plumbing easier with my sump setup.
