I tried going Herbie with mine when I set it up. Couldn't keep full syphon and gave up, went back to just Durso. Probably because of the distance to my basement sump. Hope it works for you.

How low was your full siphon? That’s what I am trying to figure out. I’m also not 100% on where my second set of drain pipes should empty out since there are only 2 spots into the socks.

Even with using gate valves and hours of fine tuning, it would eventually lose full syphon and start "toilet" flushing. I could never get all the air out to stop it from happening.

One leak from a union to bulkhead connection. Have to fix that. Took a while but got the plumbing tuned in great.

Tank is drained... Time for rocks to go in. I purchased the Nyos cement to patch my structures together into stable groups.

Eventually I want to get a Dwarf Golden Moray, so I want to have stable structures.

Still need to buy -
2 Kessil AP 700s with hanging mount
Nyos 160 Skimmer
Finnex Titanium heater - 500watts?
Refugium light - probably kessil

Split that heater into two smaller watt heaters for redundancy and get a heater controller for more redundancy. or put them on a reef controller.......
