Dumb question about tan and Stand

What are the dimensions of the stand top? 14" front to back but what is the length left to right?

Nuvo 20 tank dimensions: Length: 24” Width: 15” Height: 13”
Stand dimensions L=48" W= 14

Nuvo 20 tank dimensions: Length: 24” Width: 15” Height: 13”
Stand dimensions L=48" W= 14
If it were me, I would remove the current top, cut or have cut a new plywood top and attach it to the stand, add edge band to the ply to hide ply layers and sand, stain and clear the new top to match the base.

I dont like the idea of adding another overhanging piece of ply to that overhanging top that's already there.

I do like what tom39 suggested about taking the existing overhang top off and cut a new piece of 3/4" ply to fit your tank. But after that I would just give it a standing and hit it with a few coats of black paint.

At this point tho I would start to consider different tank and stand options. Question: how much does that top piece over hang each side of the stand now? Looks like a lot, with another .5 inch on each side it could be past my comfort zone.

Yeah often it's easier to just get the right tank or stand rather than try to salvage what you have, especially if you are concerned w/it looking like what you want.
I wonder if the original top was glued down, that might make difficult to remove cleanly, but if not it's an option.
