What's the cost on those? They are 60W and they are claiming it only suffices on a 13"x18" area. I have a 90W fixture with all 1W diodes on a 24g aquapod and just installed a pair of 120W fixtures with 1W diodes on my 4'x2' 120g tank.

Also, go look at their PAR demonstration. I would trust it a lot more if they actually measured the PAR values in water, not just in air.

It may be a very good product but I think there is better on the market.

I all comes down to cost and actual PAR.

I saw some great LED lights at the South Eastern Coral Farmers Market last weekend.
The ones that I will be getting are $325, but the will pay for themselves very quickly with the reduce electric, heat and evaporation.

I don't know what they retail for but I can get those for 240 each. I'd need 3 for my 90 gallon. I'd probably keep my retro t5s as well. The way I see it is I have to buy new MH bulbs right now which will run me 140 bucks. If I wanted to I could get close to 300 for my MH fixtures. So that means it would only be about 300 to upgrade to these. At least thats how i'm talkign myself into getting them....

I agree, it ticks me off that they did the par rating out of the water....

They look great. I am not sure if anyone else has an issue with too much par. But I actually took ati b+ bulbs out of my ati sunpower and put in uvl super actinics because I was bleaching my corals on the sand....

Nice light would like to see them on a tank for color and coral pop.

Thanks for the info

Plus the reduced electricity, heat and evaporation will help justify the costs as well.

LED's have great shimmer. I just switched from mh's to led's and the shimmer is the same if not more.

It shouldn't **** you off. I've heard that par readings are higher in water and that the ripples in the surface actually magnify the intensity of the light.

Here is the question of the day
do they have individual controls for the white and blue bulbs
can you link them together to one controller?

The ones that I am looking at do not.
The seller said that there are a lot of law suites for haviving seperate control.
I guess someone owns the paten on that technology.

Not recommended' i've used them don't like it at all!!! I've return it the next day. It's not wide spread more of spotted. Also currently they have only the one with one cord so you cannot be able to control the blue & white separatly. Switch to Panorama and it's much better but just not happy with the PAR working on my DIY 3 watt led will post later to see how it goes.

That company is Orbitec, the one that sued PFO. Right now, to dim them separately you need to get licensed by Orbitec. AquaIllumination LEDs have separate white/blue dimming via a flash drive type controller. They are licensed by Orbitec.

How many of them were you using? The spread being more compact is why people think they are so good. I was planning on getting at least 3 of them for my 90, maybe 4.

I have 3 on my 90 gal. and wasn't enough light compare to 1 250 watt MH that i used to have on it. And also the reason i did used it is that i can't be able to controlled the blue and the white.

The one that I saw on display at the SECFM had the following specifactions:
LED quantity: 119pcs x 1 Watt LED (71 White + 48 Blue)
LED configuration: BridgeLux 1w/LED Color: White and Blue mixed, White: 14000K(14000-20000k), Blue: 460nm
Dimension: 15.75” x 8.38” x 2.80” Or 400X213X71 mm
Gross weight: 11 Pounds or 5kg
2" depth - 1537 Par
12" depth - 423 Par
24" depth - 182 Par

It had great area coverage and I strongly believe that 2 of them on my 4 foot tank will be enough.

According to recent test, Panorama only got 50 PAR at 24". Is this the one you are using? That will kill my SPS and clams. I think they are 2 different animals.
