Just got the panorama fixtures in and I love them!:haha: I especially love the blue stunner strips that you can add on to them, they make the greens, oranges, and reds GLOW like radiation. I'll post some pics, but you just have to see it in person to appreciate it. I know there are ways to photograph the flourescence of the corals, but how do you do it?

For the money you can't beat the Stunner strips if you want some LED pop.

Ecoxotic LED

Would the light support SPS on a tank that is 36" x 18" x 20"? I see the fixture is only ~24" long.

The panorama modules would support coral life - in fact they make a full LED hood using these strips. The stunners are just for aesthetics. Although I run 4 of these mounted under the hood on my RSM and love them. Great way to add a little actintic blues or the bright white shimmer that T5s just don't give you.

A few comments. Don't get the 50/50 stunners as they are in a 3 to 1 white to blue ratio. Pure white or the 453 solid blues give you the best bang for your buck. Plus you can run up to 6 of them off a single power supply.

Only complaint - the eletrical leads off of both ends are a little short if you're linking them and try to navigate around stock lighting.

I have two 17.5 fixtures over my 36x18x24. It says to keep sps towards the top of the tank, but how far down you can go I'm not quite sure. I can tell you that all of my tank is VERY lit up so I don't see there being a problem with sps as long as it is at the top. Yes, the blue stunners are awesome for how much they are. Has anyone tried the ultra violet ones? I was thinking of getting either a couple strips of those or a couple more actinic blue ones. Right now I have 4 stunners lighting it up before lights out. I wish there weren't so many wires to deal with, but other than that I love it so far, then again I've only had it running a few hours lol

Tried taking some right before lights out and the coral pops, but the background is crazy blue! I'll try and get them up, but they're not that pretty. I'll try and take better ones tomorrow. I'm not a big fan of the white lights, but I'll get used to it. The evening viewing makes up for it imo. Give me a few mins and I'll post some.

Stunner vs Panorama

The stunner strips normally run about $44 each and the power supply about $13. I was lucky enough to catch them at a frag event @ That Pet Place, up in Lancaster, PA and they were offering a show special of buy 1, get one free. IMO the UV/420nm stunners are meaningless as (remember) the stunners are ONLY for aesthetics and will not support coral growth. The panorama strips WILL.

Speaking of wires. I secured mine to my hood with those little 3M eletrical tie fastners/clips. Go to your local hardware store and look where they sell the eltrical ties. They have many varieties, but the adhesive ones worked well for me. No dangling wires.

And they definately do the job for aesthetics. So the UV's don't show a difference in coral colors at all?

cant wait to see these in person. Look like they might be cool to play around with.

UV stunners

Take this answer with a grain of salt. "That Pet Place" has a Red Sea Max 250 set-up as a display tank. They are or atlest in February, were.... running the Full Ecoxotic Hood (basicly panorama). They also had it augmented with the stunner strips. The guys there were great as I asked them to turn off the hood and let me see it with just the solid Blue 453nm stunners and with just the UV 420nm stunners. They took the time to plug and unplug a few strips to do this and I was not impressed at all with the UV stunners. But the solid blues & solid whites were stellar. It was what swayed me into purchasing 4 of them on the spot.

But - keep in mind, this was viewed in a well lit store and I only have a few minutes of observing them, so take the UV review lightly.

i see everyone was speaking about the Stunner strips, but i was also curious if anyone has tried the actual panorama 12W strips as well? i am badly trying to choose between LED strips within my price range (i.e. Current, IceCap, and Ecoxotic strips), and because i don't have the money right now for a full Panorama fixture, i am just curious about the Panorama strips because they are about twice as much as the Stunner strips.

thx for any input!

Is everyone running their Stunners on their own or are the main lights also on? I'm thinking of doing a minor upgrade to my 29 BC and was worried the Stunners would be overpowered.

Proposed lights:
1- PC-R Actinic White (12000K)
2- Ecoxotic Stunner Module 453nm Actinic Blue
3- PC-R UVL Combo (Actinic White/454nm)
4- Ecoxotic Stunner Module 453nm Actinic Blue

The Reefbrite strips are the only product that I would use in direct comparison to the Panoramas. The Current Powerbrites are too spotty, and the Icecaps are for moonlights only. There is a big difference in output between the Stunners and the Panoramas, shich is why you see the jump in cost. The Stunners are there for supplimental lighting only, while the Panoramas have the capability for actual growth. They will also fair better against high power lights when used as a suppliment.

for what I know: panorama 12W strip is different as strip used in Panoramas fixture. The strip is used in fixture has reflect, the single 12W strip doesn't have reflect. the performance is different. The reflect is key to keep SPS.

Well I think it's bleaching the tips of my anemone so we'll see how that goes. I might have to raise the lights for a little bit. Other than that, everything else seems to be doing fine. It's only been a couple of days though.
