my family all calls GSPs "grass" colloquially, lol
jokes aside this stuff does make great scenery even when there's a plague of em.

Great tank- and amazing pictures here! :star-struck: You're very proficient with that camera; well done!
Thank you. I need to get better at updating though.

Never mentioned I got a lunare wrasse, Thalassoma lunare and here are the photos+

My fuzzy is like that too! She loves to swim around my hands when Im in the tank too!

Great Thread and interesting tank perspective, Slocke.
I had an Ocellated Moray for about 8 years. In the right tank, they can be great.
Mine was almost like a family dog. I used to hand feed him, but had to be careful because his eyesight wasn't as good as his teeth. Have you been bitten yet? It's great! :zany-face:

One time I got bit and when I pulled my hand back, I hit my bare elbow on a metal halide bulb for double damage.
What was even more stupid and embarrassing was I did it all in front of my wife who spent the next hour randomly chuckling...I knew who she was laughing at...

I don’t update this thread enough do I. Good news is for the most part everything is doing well and the tank looks good. The bad part is my skimmers keep breaking and my nutrients are bad. Also my lunare wrasse eats urchins now and I lost my favorite one sadly.

For science I’ve let all 3 bite me. The banded is pathetic. Can’t get its jaws around my finger and feels like the clamp you’d put on a bag of salad in the fridge.
The spotted is way stronger but has no teeth so like a wood clamp. Painful but not damaging really.
The snowflake is by far the worst. Not fang toothed but is as strong as the spotted but with teeth. Like a wood clamp dusted with crushed glass. Again not going to do any real damage but might cause some minor bleeding.

Tank build specifically for the purpose of housing a variety of small eels. Though it was time to show what I'm doing with this tank and the fairly unconventional setup.

What's the minimum tank size for a cat?

Using silicone to attach pipework and egg crate to the back of the tank. The pipe is for the eels; the egg crate for anchoring the background.

Added the rocks (black mountain seriyu) and put down the first layer of expanding foam.
Wow, just saw this thread. Seyru for a saltwater tank is a new one for me! Usually I'd go for black lava rock for something like this but this is interesting!

It’s lost its beauty as algae has grown on it but I still like the black look.
