What kind of eggs do you think these are? They were laid under the blade of my glass scraper and I’m not sure how long they’ve been there. Less than a week, I’d say. Very cool looking though!

Looks like it, yes. Do you have any snails? If so, what kind? Also know of any snails that hang out in that area?

I have Astrea & Bumblebee snails in this tank. I’m amazed that they’d be able to get behind the scraper like that since it’s a flipper nano scraper. Not much clearance.

Looks like nassarius snail eggs. Nerite are white

That’s a thought! I may still have some nassarius in this tank. I haven’t added any in probably a year and a half but I also have not seen any of them in at least 6 months. I figured my puffer might have made a meal of them, but they could still be in there!

I'm not sure but then again I'm no marine biologist ;) However having owned some Nassarius snails previously their eggs are more of a spiral mass that zig zag spiral in mass. Not an egg sac if that makes sense.

Here is a grouping of my Strombus snails. They always find a place to shag - as Austin would say.

Dove snail (Columbellidae) eggs; these are great grazers and rare hitchhikers. Dove snails are often misidentified as Strombus maculatus (now Maculastrombus maculatus).

There doesn't seem to be much documentation of Astraea and bumblebee snail eggs.

Thanks for the images. For clarity sake I have Strombus and the eggs are indeed egg sacks with 4 - 10 in each. Both my display and refugium are full of them :)

The Nassarius snail image is perfect - so much clearer than my lousy description :D

They do look just like the dove snail eggs, just with more of the little white granules inside. I also haven’t found too much on Bumblebee or Astrea eggs. :(

Maybe after hours and lights out you can take a peek and look on the glass to see what sort of creatures may be there?

Look up nassarius vibex eggs. Also can be collanista snail eggs

Or could they be limpet eggs? I’ve never seen their eggs before, they always just show up as tiny babies. Lol

Reviving this because I haven’t been able to find much on how Limpets reproduce. Do they lay eggs? I just recently added a couple of the small white limpets to a tank that never had them before from the same tank that I posted the original pics of. Two of the limpets are on the front glass and suddenly, there are those same little egg sacs right near them. Anyone know anything about limpet eggs?
I have a bunch of different types of snails in this tank but this type of eggs never showed up until the limpets were added.

Yes, some limpets lay demersal eggs while others spawn pelagic eggs - the look of the eggs may vary drastically from one species to another. I'm not familiar with a species that lays eggs which look like this, but I haven't looked too much into limpet reproduction yet, and with a cursory search, it looks like limpet reproduction hasn't been very highly studied yet.

Same, I looked for scientific articles that might have photos but I couldn’t find any. Thanks for your input though!! :)
