Eibli Red Striped Angelfish

How much difference Sobo? If 0.002 or less I doubt that was it.

I usually use DT water but dilute it with RO/DI to match the salinity to the shipping water. (one of the reasons I love Diver's Den as they ship at 1.025-1.026 usually)
Can't recall to be honest. Like I said, I did a poor job at acclimating him. I'm gonna say if was more than 0.002

:( You probably are already planning on it, but try and match your salinity to that of your LFS before your next purchase. Definitely makes acclimation a lot easier.

sorry to hear that.....I do the same thing that you do with my QT, I have a sponge filter sitting in my sump and when I'm ready to use it I take the water from my DT, attach a power head to the sponge filter, add my HOB filter and then drip acclimate from DT for at least 90 minutes

I'll def be acclimating a lot longer next time

I'm actually a believer in short as short an acclimation time as possible. If the salinity is very close (within .001), I just float the bad for 15 minutes and set them free.

Yeah but I think that was my problem. The salinity difference was way off and I didn't think to test them

I ALWAYS check the salinity in the bag right off the bat. More than half my fish came from on line vendors so more than 30 minute acclimations are out of the question. I always leave the QT I'm going to use about a gallon short of full to make it easier to alter the salinity. If I get a surprise I use that 30 minutes to make the salinity match and free the fish in to the QT.

For a locally acquired fish a longer acclimation is ok but completely unnecessary. I know all the salinities of my local LFS's ... :-)
