The first two pics have our biggest males. 2-1/2" to 3" max. These were considered "large" by our supplier.

By the way, these are available again at LA but description has been changed from "male" to "small". Just wanted to give you guys a heads up if you didn't have a chance to pick one up and were still interested.

Well...I thought this was pretty interesting....
LiveAquaria called me today and asked me if I was looking for the Paracheliinus or the Pseudocheilinus...in which I explain Paracheliinus of course They said that the vendor didn't have any males and that I'd be getting a 'small' wrasse now. Kind of disappointed since they listed a male...I purchased a male...and they wanted to send me a small/female. With no choice, I agreed with an explanation saying that it was kind of a bait and switch....to which they apologized profusely.
A few minutes later, I get a call back saying they had a few of those wrasses in Wisconsin at the Divers Den facility and they would send me one of those instead. She said they were still female but 3 inches long. Still kind of disappointed that I'm getting a female (since I already have one) but I assume that one will change, plus I'm still happy getting it for $89.99, especially one from the Divers Den facility and not QM.

That would be them...it came from an 800 number. Its def a switcharoo but at least they didn't "intend" to do it. She said she was in the process of updating the site when I ordered....but that was on there for hours upon hours since we have a huge thread with 250 replies going on RC about this as well. Interestingly enough, when the did finally change it on the site...the description was changed from male to small at the same time the price went up to 129.99

It was safe to assume DD snatched the best ones from the LA shipment.
Now let's make this topic disappear so I can snag me a trio at the next WYSIWYG sale, regardless of vendor.
I'm hunting down the rare wrasses I want in 2012... There's something in particular from the Japan region I'd love to have; I already spoke to Kevin about the possibility. We'll see.

What are you looking for? There are plenty of wrasse experts/collectors on here. I wish the Sanguineus would come into the hobby

I'm aware; and one of them. :bigsmile: The problem with the crew around here is you mention the availability of the sought after rare ones and one of them will snatch it before you have the chance. :wink:

And of course some attenuatus wouldn't be half bad either.
Blood spot's don't do much for me; definitely rare though.
As fantastic as ballae's are, I can't justify the price tag.
P. hemitaeniatus is another favortie rare flasher of mine, as well as the newer P. nursalim and P. walton
you will. no worries though coz I'm sure they'll get along fine. they'll have enough room to keep them separated in your tank. it's actually better to start with 2 females.

That's the exact reason I wasn't too upset with LA changing to a female because it'll give the two females and chance to decide who's going to change....if both don't that is. I'm really hoping that one stays female but I guess only time will tell.
I kinda gave up on keeping "true" pairs of F&F wrasses after many tries of keeping them with diff species. personally, I will only be keeping males from here on, esp I don't have the room now. :wink:
