Eightline Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus octotaenia)

Mike / Terry, what meds are you looking for? I have plenty of Prazi and Cupramine here at the house...just an fyi. Guessing Prazi would be what you are looking for but you may be trying something else for the cysts? If I can help, just let me know.

this is so sad that all these fishes that we've been waiting for.. for a while are dying one by one. I hope that NYA or LA just held them for a few more days or even weeks to make sure they are good to go. even if they listed them and sold them, I'm sure most of us that cared would not have any issues having them hold them for the fish sake.

Well, for what it's worth, the male I received Tuesday from PIA is doing well so far.

Mine looks a little better today. He looks better and better each day and seems to be really happy hanging in QT with the leopards.

That is great to hear Brett! Just keep a close eye on him. Ours appeared to be doing great (in hypo) and took an unexpected nose dive. It's too bad ours doesn't have a buddy as they always seem to adjust to QT life easier when they are not alone.

Thanks, I hope yours comes around for ya. Your right the eightline and the Potters are so much more active after adding the kuiters. I was pretty upset when I found out I added the kuiters in with the ich but maybe it wasn't that bad. Im in for the long haul now I guess but I feel really postive about things at this point.

This is not encouraging. Fortunately the sub-male I received on Tuesday is looking good so far. A slightly torn ventral fin is about all I notice. The McCosker's is doing a lot more flashing (of course) but not being terribly over aggressive. Seems to be eating well. Bear in mind that the Red Sea is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world, somewhere in the 36-40 ppt range, so higher salinity will likely help. Temperatures tend to run a bit higher as well due to the proximity to desert climates, shallowness of the sea, and lack of rainfall.

Mine as well and he had to suffer a delayed pickup when my wife left the house without signing for the package. He looks good so far!

How big is yours?

The two I received from LA is doing really well. The larger one is definately changing. Love these guys. Very active and the submale flash throughout the day

Good news guys. Glad some are having success with them so far. Don't forget to update us with some pics :)

He was listed at 2 1/4" I believe, and that was pretty true. Might actually be a touch bigger.

I'll get once soon.

Everyone had settled down yesterday (1 day after I let him out of the accl. box) and seemed to be getting along acceptably. He wasn't shy at all come feeding time. Looking really positive right now.

My QT definitely has ich now. When looking at all my fish in QT just a while ago they all have little white specs on them, including the tiny damsels.

I'm slowly bringing salinity down, I was at 1.026 and after a day I'm at 1.017 now. I've been taking a small pitcher and pulling out 1-3 scoops and putting back fresh RO/DI. I let it go at least an hour or two before I do it again, probably much longer than that.

Now I have to be extremely careful not to use anything from the QT that will touch the DT. I was pretty aware of doing it before but now I have to be extra cautious.

Welcome to hypo, I hate ich. It's been so long since I've had to deal this.

Mine's about the same. Beautiful coloration, especially for such a small size. I've been working the late the past couple of nights and haven't let him out of the acclimation box. Will do so over the weekend and post pics.

just got my credit from LA. although they're pricing is a little high sometimes, the service is unbeatable IMHO. I'll just save that cash for more BTA's at least they don't get ich.
