Elegance coral dying!!!!!!

Tap water yes as RODI offers no ph buffering
I guess I’m confused I thought chlorine and other tap water chemicals will kill coral? And other threads I’ve seen says don’t do a freshwater dip because it could’ve kill the coral. Not trying to argue with you or be rude or anything I’m just making sure I understand this right lol otherwise it’s a $110 down the drain!!

While chlorinated water can be an issue, this is a 3-5 minute exposure for bacteria- not a tank setup. If chlorine and chloromine is a concern, simply add a dechlorinator such as prime or stress coat or amquel.
If not comfortable with the process, simply do ot do the task.

Did you read the thread that OrionN wrote?

Just did that today it’s at 480 so I’m not going to try and chase it.
That's perfect. Bring them both down a bit with your normal water changes. I'm making 200 liters for a 25% change Thursday or Friday. My regular weekly are around 9% if I fill my weekly bucket to its rim. Its time for a bigger one.

Fresh water dipping is normally fine. I have recovered acropora by fresh water dipping (15-30 seconds for those) as a last resort. Now I just dip in coral dips and tank water. Was doing a dip last week and got distracted. Don't dip for an hour plus. It seems to have the adverse effect of killing the coral. It was a lousy piece anyway, yup, uh huh.
