Elegance coral

A few weeks later this is what it looks like. I don't know why only half died, but I expect the rest to go eventually:(

Sadly that's what happens with a lot of them friend had a huge one for a year beautiful it just wasted away...

I got another one today from my LFS. They've had it for over a month and it's doing awesome. It's from Australia. We'll see how it goes. I'll take a photo when it gets settled in.....

I know one thing they like light a guy I know had one years ago under t-5's right near the waters surface had it as long as I can remember ...

I hope it does well. Mine was supposedly from Australia. I wish there was something I could do to save the other half. Oddly enough, the half that is still alive is very shaded from the light. Maybe I'll move it into the shadows. It's not like I have anything to loose.

This new one came from Australia. It was in the light with moderate flow. Even looks happy! The last one I had was from Indonesia... BIG difference!

How does it do when exposed to the light? My other one would swell up really big. And, it didn't like any flow..

It would swell. I just moved it to a more shaded spot. I'll see how that works. I don't have much flow at all in either location.

This coral need moderate to high light, but still needs to be properly acclimated Elegant Coral (2).JPG to those levels. Plus mod to high indirect water movement.

That is true for those taken from like conditions, but the ones coming from Indonesia are not the same. They are coming out of deeper and darker water and are not faring well in home aquariums, acclimated or not...

The rest of mine died last week. :(
Thanks for all of the feedback. The result was not good, but knowing I was not alone make me feel better about the whole thing.

I moved mine into a high flow area and it was not happy moved it back to a low flow area and it is open and happy. Mine is a frag of an Australian, not sure anyone would try to frag an Indo
