Hi all,
Not sure if anyone will see this that responded to this thread a couple of weeks ago but I did want to provide an update.
I caught the cleaner shrimp (which I thought may have annoyed my hammer) 3 weeks ago and removed to another tank.
As I mentioned earlier I did change the light schedule to my previous light schedule where the hammer was thriving. It now gets a total of 8 hrs of light (1 hour is white the rest is blue).
I was watching my nutrients closely (Alk, ca, mg) and dosing accordingly except for this past week when I was away on vacation but on my return I does Alk and ca. my nitrate and phos did jump up somewhat. I’ll post a picture of my parameters on 8/12 (before I left for vacation ) and 8/24 (when I returned). I attribute it to the fish being fed Mew Life Spectrum Athena A+ from my sitter daily and maybe too much as allowed to my feeding LRS frenzy frozen.
I am sending some pictures of the hammer that I took today.
Any thoughts? Does it seem like it’s improving (I don’t think it’s getting any worse)?
Polyps are short but they are not breaking apart (does this mean new growth)? I do not see the long polyps that I previously had.
Also the flesh around the move looks more viable to me.
Problem is I never experienced this so I cannot tell if there is an improvement or not.
Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
