I just want to interrupt your day for a moment and tell you thank you.

Whether you are brand new to R2R or been here as long as me I just want to say thank you. From setting up my first saltwater tank over 17 years ago to joining the "industry" by kicking off this community I have been beyond blessed by not only meeting so many amazing people all over the world but truly becoming friends and family. As I sit here and think about it today, think about life, think about you, I get emotional.

I just want you to know today that I care about you and love you. How can I love you when I've never even met you? I don't truly know all the answers but I know in my heart that I do. I'm busy. I'm busy as an admin of this community, I'm busy as a Pastor of my church, but when it comes down to it if you need me I'll do my very best to be there/here for you in and outside of this forum.

I appreciate you "interrupting my day". I started my first saltwater aquarium in 1973. There was so little information out there at the time and, of course, what was there was via books. It truly was trial and error and when I think of the lost live over those early years, I shudder. Fast (or slow) forward to today and here is Reef2Reef. I'm not sure those who started this hobby (addiction) since the inception of this site fully appreciate how meaningful what you have created here

I have been in this hobby for 15 years.
I have been to various forums (I will not list, it is tedious).
And surprisingly, from the very first post on this forum, I immediately felt the difference. On such a large forum as yours, there are probably completely different people. Someone wants to help, someone doesn't care, they just browse the forum in search of something interesting for themselves.
But the number of really caring people who are ready to help, advise, rejoice and sympathize on this forum is much greater. This gives many people the feeling that you are in the right place.
I would also like to say thank you to the administrator of this forum.
I have seen a lot in my life, but I realized one thing, the atmosphere of any team depends on the boss, no matter what people work there.
Also on this forum. Thanks to the hospitality and indifference of the administrator of this forum, who charges many with his positive (there are indifferent people here, as elsewhere) and this is transmitted to all of us.

Just wanted to say thank you for bringing the reefing industry together worldwide. This is truly the biggest reefing community in the world and I am glad to be apart of it. It's so very helpful because people who would never even come in contact in real life are able to share information about this hobby! People use this community is many different ways! I joined the "old" forum, ReefCentral in 2004. I saw it rise, and then fall. It was a fantastic resource for years. But I thought that resource had been lost. It wasn't until more recent years that I discovered this forum. This is a better, friendlier forum than the old one. You have done a great job creating a culture of mutual respect among the members. No small task, for sure. So thank you for keeping a great forum, and a great resource for experts and beginners alike.

I have read many and many threads on the forum here, and I'm been seen people shearing many words, many situations.., isn't shame to speak about, it's pointless to keep it in your self, no matter what, is it something like @revhtree done to show Love, or you are in kind of difficulties and have bad time. You will see after you say it, you will feel better, and the trouble will be less trouble, and you can find solution or good advice, and like I see not only in the hobby ;Happy

Funny you would post this today. We lost a family member early this AM somewhat unexpectedly. The Mrs. and I called off work and drove a few hours to be with family. This post was the first thing I see after logging on to sort of clear my head and distract myself for a bit

I stumbled across this website by accident, I was looking for seahorse chat room and my search took me here, and I’m so happy it did. The people I’ve met and shared with here are some of the most purest friendships I’ve ever had
The people here are awesome they were supportive and compassionate when my favorite seahorse died and I was beside myself with grief and then again when my lights broke down and I couldn’t replace it because I was out of work then and a Great member insisted that he buy me a new one and told me not to worry about paying him back (god bless you brother) you know who you are. And I believe for me one of the best parts of this community is the amount of diversity there is in cultures colors religion politics whatever whether you’re rich or poor or in the middle it doesn’t matter everybody treat everybody with love and respect on this website. That is one of the main things that I love about this website everybody here is truly a good person and I am just so happy that I have found you all and that you are all a part of my life

R2R is the ONE PLACE where I know I will find a smile and a word of encouragement after a rough day or a problem with my reef. I appreciate all of the behind the scenes work that goes into keeping the community going and growing.

When you look at it this is really a small community compared to other organizations. That said there is a huge depth of experience and encouragement in this group. I have even had the privilege to view a members tank all the way around the world in Thailand. What an expert he is a maintaining a slice of the reef!

Where else can you discuss aquarium fact and fiction with so many experts at all levels including public aquarium experts. Not only that but there are some in this community that just send free stuff to help make others dreams come true. You know who you are. What an awesome way to share the "wealth" so to speak!

You had a great idea @revhtree and a good group of friends to make it happen. Honestly, what could be better than that?

Things may get emotional, and sometimes it's difficult to separate those feelings.
My Father passed this Spring, then my Mother-In-Law. Then we were faced with Covid-19.

Too many things all at once, and then being out of work AARGH.

Not sure what will happen for us in the near future, but I look forward to a better time for all of us after this Summer !!!

This forum has so much love, advice and knowledge that is freely shared. People accept different opinions and can laugh and communicate in a positive way. About the hobby, customer service, marketing, communication, building (and being a member of) a community, etc. I used R2R as an example just yesterday in a conversation with the admins of a Facebook group. They were trying to determine how heavy-handed to be with moderation. I explained that a safe and peaceful environment like they have at R2R is by no accident. To maintain that decorum requires effort by an extraordinary administrative team. It seems like it would be a herculean task with as many members as you have, but you do an awesome job of it!

I appreciate you "interrupting my day". I started my first saltwater aquarium in 1973. There was so little information out there at the time and, of course, what was there was via books. It truly was trial and error and when I think of the lost live over those early years, I shudder. Fast (or slow) forward to today and here is Reef2Reef. I'm not sure those who started this hobby (addiction) since the inception of this site fully appreciate how meaningful what you have created here

I have been in this hobby for 15 years.
I have been to various forums (I will not list, it is tedious).
And surprisingly, from the very first post on this forum, I immediately felt the difference. On such a large forum as yours, there are probably completely different people. Someone wants to help, someone doesn't care, they just browse the forum in search of something interesting for themselves.
But the number of really caring people who are ready to help, advise, rejoice and sympathize on this forum is much greater. This gives many people the feeling that you are in the right place.
I would also like to say thank you to the administrator of this forum.
I have seen a lot in my life, but I realized one thing, the atmosphere of any team depends on the boss, no matter what people work there.
Also on this forum. Thanks to the hospitality and indifference of the administrator of this forum, who charges many with his positive (there are indifferent people here, as elsewhere) and this is transmitted to all of us.

Sorry for the late response. Been a very full end of the week and weekend! My grandmother passed away after she ate breakfast and laid down for a nap. She went so peacefully at the age of 95! We are so thankful for the life she lived ad the things she taught us.

Such a great loss!...Grandmothers are very special people!...They speak into our lives in ways that only God Himself can do...Some how their reproof and correction feels different than any other...So sorry for the loss..So many great years with her...The worlds loss...Heaven's gain!
