Emperor Angel with velvet

That is a good sign. That means most of the parasites fell off of them. You must transfer to another tank ASAP before they hatch again and reattach I more abundant numbers. Also add some Stress Guard to help cover their wounds.

I am ama little worried about the qt tank. I have a tank set up in my room for a reef I was going to do. I am probably just going to take the sand out and use that. It's been running for 3 days now with just the bio live sand I'll take out sand put a filter pad from my dt in there and then add fish right after?

Don't use anything that was from or used on your display tank because you will be contaminating the new environment. You can do what I did. Which was go buy a big plastic storage bin and use that. It worked out well for me and it holds like 15 gallons

No this is a tank I just set up 3 days ago nothing was in it just filled it up 3 days ago

No I did a fw dip on my angel last ***** and setting up a qt today. I'm not going to be able to put all my fish in my qt tank.. so after I treat my angel I can't even put him back in the dt.....

You're going to have to get another QT then. You will need to get all the fish out and leave the main tank without fish for 6 weeks. The exact same thing happened to me over the summer. I did not have fish in my tank from the middle of August until a few weeks ago.

I would definately not use sand from your tank to seed a new tank. Please look at the attached picture to understand how marine velvet cycle works. Please go the hospital/QT tank route, glad he is doing better.

So my tank got ich too my fish look a lot like yours. My Royal look like he's got the most I'm feeding the dr g stuff and using a uv what more could I do. It's been about a two weeks

Feeding caviar, garlic, ginger, etc will only help your fish build a better immune system but will not rid ich from your tank. Unfortynately, UV will also not remove ich from your system.
Only proven way of getting rid of ich is to let your tank go fallow for over 72 days. You will have to raise the temperature to 82 to speed up the cycle as well

Do NOT use stress guard or any other "water conditioner" which stress guard is. I know it helps build their slime coat but it will react poorly with the copper and turn the whole QT into a toxic death soup.

Use whatever tanks you have. Get the fish out fast. Get the copper up to therapeutic levels ASAP. Have water ready to do water changes frequently. Your going to have your fish in the tank right after setting up. this means no cycle. Your going to need some bacteria in a bottle like "dr tims one and only" to seed any filtration sponges with bacteria. this will help with the ammonia. You will still need ot do water changes until the tank is cycled.

So a 20gal tank do a 5gal water change a day will be good? Or how frequently?

a 20 gallon probably wont be big enough for all the fish. You WILL need to get them all out. Get an ammonia alert badge. Do a water change anytime ammonia is shown to be present. Probably be 50% daily for a bit until the cycle is complete

as mentioned above you can get a tote from walmart for $6 to put the rest of the fish in. It requires more equipment of course, but the tote would be cheap.

Now I heard copper can be deadly for angels.... is there another way to treat?

Chloroquine Phosphate = requires a perscription from a vet and a pharmacy to fill it.

You can do the copper on your angel. Ideally we would raise the copper levels slowly over a week. We dont have that kind of time. The copper is less deadly to the angel than the velvet is. Maybe spend a few hours raising the copper levels up, but that's the most I would do in this case.

Okay now what sg should I be at in the qt? Drip him or just add?

Hi Melypr, I see that you are the go to member when it comes to tank disease issues. Just a question, have you ever used Dr. Tim's one and only? I do read a lot of people recommend it and also know that he used to work for instant ocean before getting fired after inventing bio spira.
To me, I have used all types of beneficial bacteria on a bottle products (Cycle, Dr Time and 2 other products that I can't remember the name) when I was desperately trying to get nitrates down when I first set up a hospital tank on a fly. All I ended up doing was a major water change (80%) to get the toxics out of the tank literally, fishes were trying to jump out of the QT tank.
I was so disappointed at Dr. Tim's product since it was so highly appraise online. ALL my perimeters stabilized within hours after I used Bio Spira by Instant Ocean and no I am not here to promote the items. It is so amazing that I did not have to make a water change for a month after introducing it to my QT tanks
Just thought I let it out there, sorry if this sounded intrusive.

your QT tank should have the same water perimeters as of your DT (ideally 0.025). Just make sure you slowly raise the temperature to 82 degrees as this speeds up marine velvet and ich life cycle. Also, while at it treat them for fluke or any other parasites by using Prazipro.
Good luck
