Endangered coral ID??

I mean a case could be made that the hobby could be a way to help save endangered corals.

Mycetophyllia coral would be cool to see in the hobby. Like a chalice but more interesting

That one may be a branched finger coral (Porites porites f. furcata); the coral looks less shaggy due to the shorter polyp extension, and you can see more the skeleton underneath the polyps.

the hobby isn’t getting anything “new” from the Caribbean not ever and not unless the reefs do a miraculous turn around and the planet cools…
I did apparently get a carribean scoly …
the tank had Tampa rock and I couldn’t figure for the life of me how a scoly got in that tank … now I know thanks to this thread

Haha, yeah, Flamingo Tongue Snail (Cyphoma gibbosum) - they eat softies, typically gorgonians.
