Enough live rock?

Also get some some better tests, those api tests are not very accurate. Even with fowlr you’d want to get powerhead or 2 as fish like flow and you’ll have less headaches. Is this your first tank?
Also from experience, put your heater lower in the tank just in case something happens to your ATO. You have it so high if the water drops a bit, you’ll blow the heater.

Thanks for the response! The 29 gallon has been running since Tuesday night. I added bio spira yesterday. Any one use bio spira before? Do these parameters indicate that the cycling process has started?
I’ve never used bottle bacteria. Doesn’t look like cycle has completely started but it’s hard to tell by pic. Just give it time. Work on other things for the tank like covering back wall, looking at power heads, thinking about livestock list, maybe starting your QT, learning from all the R2R Reefers mistakes, and have fun! It’s a good looking tank and you will see it evolve through the months. Try to remember to take weekly full tank shots. Fun to go back and look at all the stages of your tank. Good Luck!

Will do

Appreciate the response! Will do! It’s a long process! Would one chromis do well by itself?

Again , I’ve always heard to buy in groups of odd numbers. So you feel like you should do it for the fish to be social and school together. But in my experience I end up with one. They are in the damsel family if I remember so they can be bullish

Okay appreciate it!

Any coral that don’t require much lighting? The light is stock. Thanks for the response
Mushrooms and many polyps, green star, zooanthids, can go with lower light. Plenty of cheaper options on Amazon that will get it done. If you want popular nicer, less expensive, light, AI prime.

Once my tank has finished cycling these are some stocking options I was thinking I appreciate any feedback

3 green reef chromis
1 neon blue goby

or

2 clown fish
1 royal gramma
1 neon blue goby

This second option sounds pretty good to me for a 29-gallon tank. The first may not succeed, since chromis are more likely to fight in a smaller tank and dwindle down to only one left. I've read that this often happens with chromis, even sometimes in a larger tank. Smaller tanks always seem to increase likelihood of aggression issues.

Also, the amount of rock needed depends on fish stocking levels. I'd probably increase the amount of rock for your stocking plan, but you may have enough as it is.
