ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

But your other account can also win. It'll ship to work just as well as home.
Other account? What other account? Oh... That @steveschuerger account that mysteriously started winning when the @tbrown account wasn't....

That seems like a lot of work. Besides I'd rather win fairly. Even one of those lights would be an awesome start to a lighting setup
it would be an amazing win! but then I'd need to figure out what to do with the other half of my tank.

I've got two thoughts if I were lucky enough to win. I've got a 60" project I'm building slowly. If two would cover that I'll just bite the bullet and grab a second. If it won't use the icon in the center and two noops on the outside

I was looking at the coverage chart, and it seemed to say 30=35 inches of coverage. I could probably go kessil icon kessil.

That was my understanding too. But if you look at the picture they used for the contest it looks like 4 over a 7' tank

That's my plan if I win one. 2 Noops over the 79, 2 Noops and a iCon over the 90.

More is more better because less shadows. I had 3 Noops over my 6' 125 and it was plenty of light. @Gtinnel has the same footprint but has 6 or 7 to minimize shadows.

If you can, why not? But I don't work with a 4 orphek fixture budget. Or at that point id see if they could get the same tech into a bigger box. Minimize plugs.

Makes sense. I was a t5 user for the same reason

I've never had T5 over a reef tank. Started with Metal Halides then switched to LEDs when I figured out how expensive T5 was if you swap bulbs at 6 months as recommended and how hot MH was. I've been using LEDs since 2010ish.

My first reef with SPS and not just softies was right around the time t5s were taking off. And in Southern California at 40 cents a kilowatt hour they just made more sense

Let's be honest: nothing in California makes sense.
