Euphyllia corals keep dying.

even one notch should help.
Nope, originally it was on 2 lights and my euphyllia looked good, then I was messing around with it and accidentally turned it down to 1 1/2 lights and now the euphyllia is huge and fluffy, 2x the size as when they were on 2 lights. I’m noticing that they grow faster too. Pics before and after I changed the flow. I did add a small indo gold hammer between the pink hammer and the purple with green stems but you can see how much more open the toxic splatter and the pink are

I placed it more closer to my light and where a good amount of flow is at and it came back but thats where it has stalled out.

I recently had 2 torches fading away and i was wondering what was going on until i caught my peppermint shrimp eating them. I removed the shrimp and they have both started to look better. I know it was the shrimp because i had moved 1 torch to my frag tank and it got better but when i saw the shrimp eating my dragon soul i put him in the frag tank and the other torch started to look bad again. I put it in the main where the shrimp is not and it looks way better.

I've been wondering about them, I have 2 i guess I will have to catch them in the act, the only problem I would have is if I move them, the aptaisia might come back. Ever since I put them both in i have not seen aptaisia ever again.

A few of my LPS which are doing way better but in the same tank as the Euphyllia that I can't get to live.

have you seen your clowns trying to host any? i had a couple kill a gold hammer by always rubbing in it and finally got them a RTBA and no more issues

I had a torch fading away and ended up finding Euphyllia eating flatworms on it removes those and the torch made a full recovery

I've never heard of peppermint shrimp eating euphyllia! I'm wondering it that's what going on with mine now.

Maybe someone already mentioned this but double check your LFSs water each time you get it IF you are using premixed salt water from them. I only buy RODI from an lfs and have learned to NOT trust their salt mix. 3 different LFSs in two different states have sold me water that would have crashed my nano for sure. On time it did... salinity has been WAAAAY off repeatedly. Have not found an LFS yet that mixes properly... as a result of this I currently not only mix my own but place such value on properly mixed water that I will only use the ESV salt so that things can’t settle out in shipping.

My $$ right now is on calcium alk and mag. Also you had mentioned the tank is at 7 months... how is coralline and sponge growth in the tank?? You should be seeing a lot of growth from them along with tiny tube worms popping up. If not things are probably off.

Also +1 on the 4-5 days being really fast for decline!! Can you get ahold of tank raised in your area? I have not put a wild Euphyllia in my tank in years!

If they are gone in 3 to 5 days, most likely a fish or crab. Flow would not effect them that quickly. The only other common thing that would kill them that quick would be way too much light- which does not seem to be the case. It is not uncommon to lose euphillia from shipping, and that ususally is in a similar time frame to what you have experienced.

Hello Everyone, so I went ahead and bought the calcium and magniusm testers, and went ahead and did all tests again. And these are the new updated parameters.
Temp: 78°
P.h: 8.0
Amo: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 2
Phosphate: 0.16
Alkalinity: 8
Calcium: 420
Magniusm: 1240
Salinity: 1.024
....
I think mag is low and if so how do I bump it up? Also yall think its possible for the Salinity to be just to low maybe. Should I try to bump it up to 1.025/26?
...
I also added chemipure blue yesterday maybe itll clear something in the background that I cant see/test for.
