Ever had dreams about your tank?

I usually have nightmares about leaving the RODI on.

That’s not a dream but reality for me many years until I finally bought cheap float switches not sure what took me so dang long to figure that out

During my 20 year of reefing, I’ve had numerous dreams about my tank and it always comes after I spend lots of time working on it and have it on my mind. Probably my third most common type of dream:

1). Lost on college campus/can’t figure out my class schedule, can’t figure out padlock for my locker/homework isn’t done...and I haven’t been in college for 12 years!

2). Need to use bathroom but every toilet is overflowing / the stall is so small you can’t sit down / toilet in the middle of a room with tons of people.

3). Fish being outside the tank or my tank being really huge, or my fish being huge, etc. It always seems like a major problem At the time.

That first dream has been one I’ve had many times throughout my life. Any psychologists or psychiatrists around here that analyze that

Mine are usually about catastrophic failure of my tank. It’s normally 2 of them
First is the glass panels blowing out. The second is normally about the bulkheads leaking water all over the floor. (This second one started when I got a drilled tank instead of the HOB overflow I used to have 6 years ago)

The first night I got a biocube for Christmas let it cycle and put a clown fish in it and I had a dream that the clownfish was wearing a top hat and talking and I offended him and he refused to pee in the tank to help cycle in it and I was soooo devastated

When I build my 325g tank with 100g sump in the first floor of a brand new home, I had nightmare about leaks. This went on for many months........ self induced trauma!

Ok, this one is pretty off the wall, but its one I've had for years and years, ever since I was a kid. Had it again like maybe 6 months ago. I'll be in the house, walking around, maybe watching some TV and ... one of my fish swims up to me, right up to my face! Little bubbles coming out of their mouths and everything! I'm a huge dog lover, basically I have a dream where my fish "swim" around the house, acting like little dogs ....

Last night i had an absolute nightmare that a giant fire worm was in my tank, id try to get it out with big tweezers and they went through it like a ghost. I couldnt do anything but watch it eat my corals infront of my face LOL. Woke up and immediately checked my tank with a sigh of relief.

What dreams good or bad have you had with your tanks?

Lol yes. One time it was about a giant eel in my tank

Sure I have, my dream is I was dreaming I had a very tiny remote control submarine, had a camera on the front of it and I can go anywhere in my tank videotape and load up to the Internet the video. That's my dream

I woke up today to a sound change in water trickle. ATO the culprit but nothing major.

Lately just about every night - how much I enjoy what I expect what I want to work on the following day. My dreams of bigger tanks in the future.. no I don't have a problem

That's crazy! I have those same 3 dreams haha

Last night! I dreamed something went wrong with the tank and I looked and all the acros were gone, just melted, and I checked the salinity and it was sky high, I had killed them all. Then I woke up and was relieved. A little sad this is an anxiety of mine.

I have very strange dreams sometimes about my fish like free swimming in my room. I have a tank on one side and I will picture them like causally swimming about as if everything was underwater.

Oh my god I dream this constantly. Like for some reason my fish get out of my tank and swim in the air.

funny you asked i had a reef dream last night.
I got in a bunch of fish via mail order ( like my wife...j/k) but had no tank to add them to so I found a store that would charge me rent per day to house them in. kinda like a fish hotel.
but once I put them fish in there system I realized they sent the wrong fish as they were butterflies and not reef safe. :O

I always have a dream that the stand is tipping over and I'm desperately trying to keep the tank from crashing to the floor.

It's kinda funny because my tank has the most overkill stand ever. Eight 2x4's holding up a 25 gallon tank.
