Evergrow full spectrum led 120w.

Back in Dec of 2012 I switched from years of 1300W of MH, t5 and led stunners to 2 EverGrow (EG) IT2080's for my 180g DT with equal parts sps, lps and softies. I love them so much I switched my 70g anemone tank to an IT2040, my 55g local tank to 2 D120's and my 24g frag tank to a D120 as well. However, I have since switched my frag tank to an OceanRevive Arctic S026 and I like it better as a basic fixture. It's slimmer (I think it looks better), and even though the EG units are quiet and run pretty cool, the S026 is dead quiet and after 10 hours at 100% power (just as a test, not over my tank) it was as cool as room temperature! I plan on getting 2 more for over the 55g local tank. The other advantage is the metal case is 2" wider than the D120 and the leds are spread out over the entire face rather than all bunched up in the middle as they are on the D120. So you get a better spread of light and a bit bigger footprint as well. When they come out with fixtures with controllers in the future I'll consider them too. OceanRevive is a new sponsor here on R2R as well. They are a US based company and their website is here:
OCEANREVIVE LED

I have ocean revive artic lights over my 45 and I couldn't be happier they are absolutely stunning full spectrum lights
And greatly priced - customer service is phenomenal as well

I can't seem to find any videos of the arctic s026, I'd love to see what these look like

I'll see what I can do for you when I get home.

b-o-b-s, sorry but I couldn't get to it last night, life got in the way. I'll see what I can do today.

Has anyone else have or have Seen any videos of the arctic s-026?

Awww... the weekend is finally here! I'll get a video posted up today! Sorry for the delay, work and illness have slowed me down the last few days.

The Evergrow/Reefbreeders/Oceanrevive are the best of the best of the chinese lights. I've tried many, many fixtures, and I prefer the Evergrows over my tank. I like them more than the Radion Pro, AI lights, and the Maxspect Razor.

I'm still not 100% satisfied though. The next company that can make a 4+ channel light with smooth dimming, smartphone control, possible Reef Angel/Apex connections, and can light my tank for under $1,000 will get my upgrade money.

I pretty much agree with you about these picks. For a new start up company and a basic only fixture, I like the OceanRevive light. I just got 2 more to replace the EG D120's over my Local/QT.

bhaz, really, is that all you want? LOL! I agree with you completely, but I don't see that coming in the short term. I'd settle for multiple fixtures being hooked into one control unit and a 3 channel light (white, blue and the rest of the spectrum). Smooth dimming means almost nothing to me. If I ever get a reef controller, I may care about compatibility and smart phone control, but that's a back burner issue for me as well.

Thank you Ron reefman and everyone else for the input. Ron I do like all the pics u showed me everything looks great

Hi bhazard,

Hey Ron, long time no chat.

It is actually VERY achieveable to create a 5+ channel light now, especially in DIY. The problem is, my DIY attempt at an 8 channel light was ugly as sin. A 60" fixture of premium Cree/Luxeon/Semiled leds with a GUI touchscreen controller cost $550 total in parts. I scrapped the whole thing and kept the Reefbreeders for the ease and looks.

Off topic:
The next big thing is DC return pumps.

bh451,

I heard you moved over here. Glad to see you are still around! An 8 channel diy... yikes! It would drive me crazy. I'm pretty good at diy stuff, but EG has made diy leds something I don't need to consider anymore. LOL. I agree about the DC pumps and China is driving the costs down there as well. Here's my 180g.

And just for fun, here is a pic my wife took a few weeks ago when we were snorkeling in the Keys.

Wow these are gorgeous tanks this lights look amazing! Awesome lull octopus too this guy's are so Cool, I used to get thos on the off shore drag boat when I was fishing. All the thought I put into these lights and I decided to go with the gen 1 echotech radion . I hope they see going to be worth the extra money. ...

Having owned both, I have serious doubts that they are.
