Fall Reefing: What does it have in store for you?

I voted for minor changes because I'm in the midst of a major reboot right now. I pulled everything, cut all of my plumbing, and now have a freshwater tank. Say what you want about freshwater, but I'm running it to ensure there isn't a stray aptasia lurking in a lost drop of saltwater. My plan for tomorrow is to drain the system and begin stacking and securing my rockwork. Once done, my RODI will get a workout filling the system up before putting salt back in.

My major plans are getting started in the reefing world. Bought my first setup last week and I've got a ton of cleaning to do. Gonna redo the stand and all the plumbing . Need to set up the RODI as well. So maybe by fall I'll have everything ready to put together.

Major plan might be giving up for now .. just finding it hard with job change and getting my puppy that tank maintenance is slipping .. been loosing to much , hell. Even killed pulsing Xenia and a Aussie toadstool figure that out... but the moorish idol and anems are flourishing more then ever lol ..

May not be fall when I get it started more like winter spring but planning a big update as I'm starting a new larger tank been researching. Being asking questions as well, as I plan my new tank no matter which tank I go with its gunna be a massive upgrade from my 20 gallon nano

I've been fighting high nutrients in the spring and summer. Things are finally getting close to good. So hopefully I'll be able to add some nice beginner corals this fall.

I will be taking down my tank this fall. I have a very busy year coming up including moving to a new home so I'm breaking down the 55 gal and going without a tank for a while. Definitely not done with the hobby and am already designing my 120 to build when we move into the new house and everything stabilizes.

Well, by fall my 625 will be cycled and have it's first batch of fish in it. The second batch of fish are planned for Oct 9. Once they are in and the system is running stable. I'll be looking at my first corals. That will of course depend on if I have signs of coraline algae. But allot to do between now and then. Also allot of waiting too.

Yea that's one thing I've kind of put on back burner. Looked in my records AFTER buying last DI resin and noticing resin turning colors in less than 2 mos - that I haven't changed membranes in 3+ years. Yep, time to do all aspects and go another 3 years.

I am hoping for inspiration at MACNA. This Fall will likely include rescaping one tank, setting up another tank (probably FOWLR initially), and also currently thinking about getting back into breeding clowns. I have cured 100+ pounds of rock and starting the cycling process now to start getting ready for upcoming projects.

Thinking of getting a tank up again. Plan is to go ultimately for an SPS tank. I plan to setup with (reef safe fish) and run the tank for about 12 months before coral. Get the tank super stable around equipment and stocking, get used to testing.
