Fathead dendro Tips Please?

I wish. I took that pic this morning before I left the house and posted from the car. I came home to a grumpy, closed up dendro. Short lived success!
Lol. I dunno. I posted this ten day after I got it. And it was weeks after that it finally opened up.

@saltyfilmfolks you got your wish...I went on vacation and my dendro is angry at me. Hunger strike. I'm worried though because the mama's mouth is gaping open...if she were a 'nem I'd be ready to get her out of the tank. Babies still have tentacles so I'm having a little hope.

Wow. That's kinda weird. Nothing else is acting odd?

I hope, and it's more than likely is just a phase. Or pout.

A couple things were cranky when I got home from vacay, but my alk (usually 8.2 range) was 7.0, so no surprise. I've been having trouble with it since I changed lighting systems. One of my hammers was retracted but my rabbitfish likes to nibble...*sigh*. So much for the "everything looks so much better when I go on vacation and keep my hands out of the tank" theory. Blown. to . He!!. It is all back to normal now (except her crankiness....)

I'm trying letting her sit in a bowl full of food for the second night in a row hoping to bribe her into opening. The smaller heads are open and eating but the large one is just sitting there with a gaping mouth and barely visible tentacles. dangit.

ETA: haha too funny. "Dangit" is not what I wrote.

I might be lucky, my sun coral never failed blooming. They starts opening an hour before lights off and close up an hour before lights on. There might be something in the water that trigger this behaviour. I will spot feed blended meaty seafoods whenever I feel like feeding my LPS, probably every few months. I think your filter socks cleans your water too much, leaving no fine particulates for corals to feast on.

That's a pretty sun coral! I agree, my corals seem happier in general with better PE since I took my filter sock out about 6 weeks ago, although my nitrates have gone up a bit.

Thank you. This beauty has been in my tank for more than 8 months with very minimal spot feeding (maybe around 6 or 7 times from the day I bought it).

@saltyfilmfolks
Do you still have your dendro?
And is it doing good?

Thanks, Freddie
Yep, was starting to struggle a bit after I changed up the flow in the tank.
I set it up next to the acros and it’s got four new heads.
