Fauna Marin red x

So guys I’ve thrown in the towel for the 2nd time with this product and have had to put the uv on. Cloudy water for days. A lot of my montis are bleaching or fully bleached as of this morning everything else looks ticked off to. Others may have success with this product however for me on the two occasions of using it, it has caused more harm than good. Got a few frags that are toast! So the cost of the product and the cost of the livestock affected does not sit well with me. I’m going to let my system have a break and once the system is no longer shocked im probably going to use cyano rx

@PopBot16 keep us updated on your progress :)

That sucks. It hasn't been five days since your last dose yet though, right? Tomorrow will be the last day of dosing for me. No cloudy water here (yet), luckily. How bad was the cyano you're trying to eradicate?

The amount of cyano was not a lot at all not worth what’s happened from trying to treat it with red X. My last dose was 2 n half days ago I always suffer cloudy water with this product I can barely see the wavemaker on the other side of the tank. When viewing the tank from the front it doesn’t look cloudy it’s a strange one happened twice now though. I hope your outcome is different to mine and I’m just an exception. Twice now never again.

So yesterday was my last day of dosing. Still no cloudiness. There may be some "holes" in the cyano sheets that weren't there before, but I'm not going to assess too much until a few more days pass.

@PopBot16 any update pal ? I threw away 4 corals due to this product today and have kept two hoping they will recover. I received a £150 delivery today to replace my losses I’m interested to see your results ? I didn’t lose every coral maybe 20% but the cost of the coral loss greatly outweighs the cost of the product :/

dang glad I didn't try this product. Would be nice to get a few more ppls inputs to see if it was truly the product causing loss.

I’m interested in other peoples input too as both times I’ve used this product it’s caused bacteria blooms maybe its just my tank, a bad batch or maybe neither, need more people to review.
The Google reviews for this product aren’t great their Dino x worked for me with dinos but Red X is a bit fat 0/10 for me with Cyanobacteria

I am trying this product now. The problem is that this is a bacteria, and Red x is good bacteria that will outcompete cyano, so that the good bacteria can take over again in the aquarium. it did not fix the underlying problem which eg could be 0 nitrate and phosphate

Got rhe hole tank covered in cyano

Great thread cheers ,so can I pick your brains ?
1 I dosed nopox and wiped my tank of fish with bacteria bloom robbing the tank of oxygen (no test kit at that time) I have a ps 2 in tank skimmer which I'm assuming was just not upto the job ..could I have the same problem here ??? Is it skimmer dependant like this ?
2 my logical head says it is an overall algae reducer so surely zoox will be drastically affected as well and has this caused your bleaching ?
3 what has been long term affects now
Many thanks
