February Meetin

Anyone interested in making our own food at this meeting? We did this a year or so ago and it was alot of fun. Basically I can make up a list of ingrediants and people can sign up to bring something to add to the mess. It ends up being alot like rods food, only we can add whatever we want. Post if you would be interested in this. Especially since its susans house we will be stinking up! LOL

basic list:

Shrimp
Oyster
Clam
squid
white fish
fish eggs
nori
brine shrimp, or mysis
cyclops
broccoli
oyster eggs
rotifers

We can make it out of whatever people bring, and we dont have to have all of it.

I have an extra flat pack of spirulina brine shrimp we can use, and plenty of freeze dried cyclopeze.
If there is stuff on the list you can bring please post and I will keep a list of what we have. Also if anyone has a old blender they want to donate to a charitable cause we will need one, if not I will buy one or the club can purchase one for future food prep.

you can get the shrimp, clams, scallops, white fish, and alot of stuff at fresh market or other fresh stores

What time is the meeting? I have a wedding that day!!! :(

Her post says 21st at 2pm. unless she changes it? im sure you can get there after the wedding, unless they need it annuled imediatly to! LOL

Let me know what you need me to bring. I think I will be able to finally make my first meeting this time!

David, your wedding is on Sunday? The meeting is Sunday at 2pm. And just so you'll know, you'll be blending up all the messy food OUTSIDE. Not inside. And do we take home our portion and freeze it in a ziplock? I don't have a ton of freezer space to hold a bunch of stuff.

And what to bring for US to eat- I'm providing meatballs. I love them.... I'll check, but I'm pretty sure that I've got paper products. Oops. Work calls
Susan

Ok, I will make a list of whose volunteered to bring food for the fish

Bryan - Brine shrimp, rotifers, cyclopeze
jim - Nori, broccoli

we still need: if you want to bring stuff just tell me what you can bring from the list and I will mark you down for it.
Shrimp
Oyster
Clam
squid
white fish

Susan - we will put it in ziploc bags and each person who brings stuff for the food takes home there share to freeze themselves. I bought cheap ice trays last time for my food, it made nice little cubes, but you can freeze it in the bag and break off your own to. whatever floats your boat.

Sweet! I can be there on Sunday! WOOT!

Also remember that you can use egg crate and smear all the food into that and remove. Then you have nice cool little feeding squares!

I will bring shrimp for the food. How many should I get?

I will also bring drinks and a desert for us to eat and drink.

Cool davy, glad you can come. Probly bring 10 medium size shrimp, or 5-6 large ones. or more if you get plenty. We need to make alot of this so there will be plenty for everyone to have some.

everyone bringing stuff, be sure it is not frozen

and you understand you'll be blending OUTSIDE, right? Can we use canned oysters/clams? I don't know how we'd get fresh around here.

I have paper plates, cups. I think I've got enough actual forks though I might get plastic.

Need somebody to bring chips and dip maybe. Potato salad is good! Maybe I'll try to make spinach dip/scoop fritos. That is always good....

I will bring about 20 shrimp at least!
