I don't know what to say besides bad things about fedex, again I'm waiting for a coral delivery guranteed for 10:30am and they'll be 3 hours late and I may have to drive 45 mins to the nearest facility to pick them up after 6pm. I know I can go back to the vendor if I have an issue but I want the corals. Sorry all just wanted to vent.

I have yet to have a good experience with Fedex. My last shipment from them was left on my front steps in the rain. UPS on the other hand goes around back and puts them on my covered back porch.

Same issue myself Guaranteed by noon today, did not happen. Really put a wrench in the spokes. First coral order in a long time and I'm not a happy camper.
This.
I've had many invert losses this way. Or over heated summer boxes. I am hesitant to order much online anymore

I have the opposite problem. Every titanic fail in shipping I've had (with the exception of DHL, which is a whole new level of garbage) has been with UPS. With FedEx, it might be slightly late... but I know it will get there. UPS seems a crap shoot, and they routinely ignore shipping instructions (Like leaving a $2k+ piece of furniture right out in the open in front of my door, instead of waiting for a signature), they lie (I've lost count of how many times their site says "delivered" when it's nowhere near), and the delight in crushing and maiming packages.

Had a fish sent to me on Monday and also 3 hours late and DOA and of course it is their core belief they did their job - Completing delivery at 1:16p when it was by 10:30a.

well, I am waiting from some gear via USPS. It has been 5 weeks.. Talked to the postal service today and she said "it appears the whole container of mail is missing" My response... Did I truck run off the road and spill all the mail? She said "maybe".

Ummm, so yeah.

This made me extremely frustratingly angry reading it

I don't generally have livestock shipped to my home. Instead, I opt to pick it up at the local hub in the morning (be it UPS or FedEx... stays in a climate controlled building and always ready for pickup by 8:00-9:00 AM).

yup, and I was reading the news tonight on the back-up issues in Cali, don't think it'll get better for a while.

Unfortunately probably have to get used to it. They have no incentive to improve. Stock price is much higher than pre covid and has nearly doubled since March lows for both FedEx and UPS.

Also, no matter how bad the service is, they are still much better than anyone else...

I've (knock wood) never had an order DOA when shipped Fedex. United Package Smashers not only delivered a coral order 5 days late, but they lied about why they did it. They cited a inclement weather delay in the state that I live in, when it was pretty clear by looking outside that the weather was not a problem. I spoke with someone I knew who was a manager at UPS and he told me that they had problems with the subcontractor on that incoming leg not being able to find pilots. Lying sacks of poo trying to get out of admitting fault - that is what UPS is full of. If you are worried about late deliveries (things like roadwork, construction delays, detours *actually happen), have it held at your local Fedex hub and go pick it up. Simple solution.

Yup best practice is to pick up from a fedex hub instead. I live in Canada and shipments from across the country will get delivered to the hub by 9am. Most problems come from truck drivers from the hub to your house

I had UPS take 4 days to deliver some RFAs from 45 minutes away. Their excuse? "Natural disaster". It was sunny and 70 degrees the entire week. I called on thursday and asked if I could pick them up, they said no you have to wait until friday morning for sorting and to call back in the morning before 10 to arrange a pickup. Okay, called back they told me they couldn't let me pick it up and it had to be sent to a facility that accepts customers. This is after I told them they were live animals. When I told asked them what they expect me to do? Wait for a box full of dead creatures? They basically said yeah. Rudest people I've ever had the displeasure of talking to. Really soured me on them. Thankfully the guy who had shipped them had kept them in amazingly good health and they were extremely well packed so they last almost 5 days in that box. Within 20m 2 of the 3 had opened and within a day they were all fully opened and looking amazing.

I had a coral delivery a few days ago, said it would arrive at 12pm, shows up around 2:15pm, Atleast the coral was alive

For me, FedEx seems to be better than UPS but my guaranteed by 10:30am CUC delivery was 2 hours late. Still better than USPS. Ordered a CUC online and on delivery day, I get a notification that it just arrived in Puerto Rico... I live in Southern California and it shipped from Floida. How the heck do you route it there?? Package comes a week late, box all torn up and with a terrible smell before even opening.

Some of you may have seen this posted before by me but here goes. I will almost completely and totally avoid using OOPS (ups) with any livestock whatsoever. This isn’t due to a timelyness issue though. I had an order coming from Northern California to Southern California and the OOPS driver was on time. I walk out as the truck comes to a stop this (words I’m not allowed to say) sees me walking to the truck, gets out of his seat, walks to what seems to be the back of his truck.... then BAM!!! From the back to the front this guy throws my box across the truck!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!! Luckily by this time my husband was walking up because my jaw was on the asphalt!!! I thought my husband was gonna knock the guy clean out!!! I could feel him gathering himself as he told the driver not to touch the box again, he walked up to the truck and said “can you read?” The driver looked confused so he asked him again pointing at the box that has “live animals”, “handle with care”, and “fragile” in giant bold letters. My husband handed me the box and the driver was about to drive away when, as I was basically running this box of coral into the house to check on things, I heard my husband ask the guy where he thought he was going and to call his super immediately! I’m not sure what all was discussed between my husband and this guys super but I’m sure it wasn’t nice. My fedex delivery guy on the other hand.... will go out of his way to help me carry the boxes to the house! Asks me questions! “Fish of coral today”, “What kind of coral”, “what it looks like” etc! He’s always wearing a smile! Back to the OOPS driver luckily there was only a couple broken branches here and there and the vendor was on the phone with me while my husband was on the phone with the guys super and had my back tenfold if anything happened. If I can avoid it I refuse to allow UPS to lay a finger on anything I order!

I have been getting lots of packages from all three, my summary.
USPS packages can be anywhere from on time to 2-3 days late or just plain lost.

UPS typically on time or arrives the next day. So it’s a flip of the coin, half the time it’s a day late.

Fedex almost always delivers on the promised date but that can be plus or minus 2-4 hours.

My experience is that Fedex is still the best of the lot.
