Fighting or mating?

They most likely will but I do agree that Ritteri is the hardest nem to keep alive but I have one and it's doing fine

Yah I'm scared to keep a ritiri...maybe when I'm more experienced with a nem specific tank

Yea so just try to do a lot more research before even considering buying one for the sake of the nem

I'm just gonna stick with BTA because I've handled/ maintenance them at work

An anem isn't needed to get clowns to spawn. They lay their eggs on a hard surface like LR or a shell. Since they are already showing courtship behavior I wouldn't mess it up by adding anything. Just 2¢ from a fellow who has bred flame saddleback clownfish many times.

It took my clowns easily 2-3 months before they started hosting my nem.... makes a differences if your clowns were captive-bred or not. Obviously a captive-bred clown doesnt know how to "clown" right away... so if you get a nem dont get discouraged if they dont take to it right away... give it time. Also if the nem is not big enough to host both clowns... the female may run the male out and hog it all to herself lol

I agree and sciguy2 we all know a clown doesn't need a nem to spawn but a nem helps a clown pair get healthy and end up spawning duh

The initial post asked whether to invest in an anem. I stated my opinion that if the fish are showing courting behavior don't muck with the tank environment. If breeding is wanted, stability is more important than an anem.

What's with the "duh" comment?

Of course stability is more important but this is about a nem not stability
