Welcome to r2r.

Best depends on your application. After 52 years of Reefing, I use canister filters in numerous applications.

Not familiar with the model you referenced, however I see little need for heaters in reef aquariums and no need to include a heater in a canister filter. Just something extra to fail.

Not knowing your reef aquarium experience level, in my experiences, I have found sponges unnecessary and a hinderance requiring frequent maintenance.

What size tank? Flow rate on that model is 160 GPHr.

Hello, my aquarium is 54 liters, it is in the process of cycling and there are seachem matrix sera siporax and seachem purigen in it. after the cycle is complete I would like to continue with purigen and matrix carbon. Caribsea rock and quality sand, It's been three weeks...

I'm a beginner

In reading product details it seems that both media focus on chemical filtration.

What have you used to inoculate nitrification bacteria?

I used bioclean bacteria once three weeks ago

After adding bacteria, did you feed your bacteria a nitrogen source?

Nitrification bacteria break down ammonia to nitrite then nitrite to nitrate.

Denitrification bacteria take longer to multiply, they consume the oxygen molecule in NO4 and release a free nitrogen gas molecule.

No, I didn't feed it, I didn't add anything.
Which product should I use?

if I use fish food.

@spiritanimal
The questions I ask all focus on how you cycled your tank. All the information for these questions would be included in your tank journal.

When fish food is eaten by fish, ammonia is byproduct. Almost everything in our reef tanks, prefer ammonia. Uneaten fish food is not a recommended nutrient pathway.

what live stock is in the aquarium and what are your plans for this system?

There are currently no fish in the aquarium There will be only two fish and a simple coral type

"Fluval Cycle Biologicial Enhancer" I can use this product ?

My aquarium now

Pumice or Seachem Matrix works although some believe it leaches aluminum but has been used by many so don't know about that. Planning on sending ICP as I've been using pumice for two years with no WC therefore if it's leaching then I should have it.

Fluval has a new FX media that looks intriguing but as with any media that offers internal surface that may clog with dead bacteria overtime and may need replacing or soaked in citric acid in portions as to not disturb the entire biological media. However, have enough of it and internal likely doesn't matter and does depend on volume of rocks in display.

Honestly, could just fill it with various sponges from coarse to fine and rinse those periodically in tank water. No need to buy expensive marketed biological media and especially is sole goal is ammonia and nitrite reduction. This plus an oversized Fuge will solve most issues. I'd spend more effort and dollars on a properly sized or oversized Fuge, to be honest. Use the canister to trap detritus and let it decompose as fuel for the Fuge which I'm going to use to reduce co2 naturally. Keep it simple because I'm lazy. Add trace as needed because that Fuge will consume much of certain elements beyond what the corals need.

Seachem Matrix(which is pumice) is what I use. Been using it for years. Take it out every few months and clean in cold tap water. Use in Seachem zipper media bags.
It is the man made Ceramic media that is believed to leach aluminum.

If you are not keeping the Siporax and Seachem matrix after the tank has cycled, you should remove it now, there is no point growing bacteria on the siporax and seachem just to remove it before you add the fish.

Add a little piece of raw prawn to the tank, just a very small piece, leave it in the tank, it was rot and prodce ammonia for the bacteria you have added to feed on…you can just add a little fish food if you want but the prawn is probably a better choice.

Found a report stating that pumice might leech aluminum but wasn't specific and why I just don't know. ICP should help.

Quality carbon and a possibly a pinch of gfo if needed is what I would use. However, I am not a big fan of canisters in general and much rather prefer to recommend hangon back filters.

Why would you clean it in cold tap water? You should never rinse biomedia in anything but saltwater.
