Filter media for saltwater

Found a report stating that pumice might leech aluminum but wasn't specific and why I just don't know. ICP should help.
Found what your talking about. Pumice is about 13.5% aluminum oxide depending where it comes(mined) from. Years ago all the talk here on the forum was about Marine Pure leaching aluminum, not pumice, go figure. Well it's never killed anything in my tanks or raise the aluminum on a ICP test.

friends I read all the posts carefully.. thanks
I understand that the matrix carbon we can add it after the cycle has passed and it needs to be changed once a week right?

Carbon can be used as much as you like, some change weekly, some monthly, some just add it when they think it’s needed, depends why you are using it, remember to give it a good rinse before you add it to the tank and use a good media bag, you want a small micron media bag so the small particles don’t get out.

That's good to know and I recall the MarinePure scare. Reefers tend to panic at the mere mention of a potential issue existing. Going to still send out ICP as I'm using pumice sold for growing orchids as it's readily available at Horne Depot at a fraction of the cost of Matrix and comes in the same size as Denitrate which offers greater external surface area which I prefer since prolong use will likely result in clogged internal area. It's lighter than straight up gravel and can be sourced in smaller grades as well to create a mixed environment for capturing and decomposing detritus which is my main goal. No way I'm changing socks or constantly having to deal with floss or bother with roller mats. Let nature do nature. Fuge will solve the rest along with zapping co2 which is my ultimate goal to reliably raise ph without additives or fuzz. Unless I get an HVAC with the new AC. Then back to carbon dosing and make simpler than it is.

Not talking about Matrix Carbon. Talking about Matrix biological media.

I want to use carbon all the time for its ability to keep out harmful substances. I'll change it every month. additionally matix and siporax I just want to ask, could it be seachem purigen?

When I asked seachem, they said that you can use both products at the same time, we only recommend using carbon after adding live carbon.

yes you can use both carbon and purigen at the same time, they do slightly different things, don’t mix as purigen lasts longer than carbon, so use separate media bags, you will need small micron media bag for purigen.

Don’t get carried away with siporax and matix as if you have rocks and sand you will have enough bacteria in the tank, these will just start to collect detritus and just be another thing to clean, I used siporax, removed it and my nitrates went down, add them if you want but only a little amount and keep them clean, rinse in old tank water when you do a water change.

I did not have diatom in my aquarium, but the water values are normal and it has been 1 month. I think I can add a fish two now. and cleaning team ? right

I understand that in some aquariums the diatom process can be like this over time. some areas of the stones are only slightly present, but there is no sand

My aquarium water parameters;
ammonia 0
phosphate 0
nitrate 10 mg/L
nitrite 0.5ppm/1ppm
Salt 1024
temperature 25C

waiting for your evaluations??
