So I orderes two clams Monday and they were held up all day in Memphis, they just made it to the airport by 7pm. They might make it to the local delivery station tonight which closes at 9, but maybe not. I'll drive up there before they close in case they do, but it's not looking good. Crossing my fingers. How hardy are they? It's been unseasonably warm today, so hoping that helps somewhat. But 30 plus hours in the bag isn't promising.

Yeah, that's why I'm not buying live stock online often. I'm only buy when LFS refused to order for me but I did receive some live stock after 48 hours because of delayed but all the fishes are alive thanks a lot for shipping department that bagged 1 fish per bag.
I wish everything doing ok for your.

Thanks. I've ordered from them before and another vendor online and had good luck. I think it was just the holiday delays. They should be here tomorrow morning, so they'll go into the quarantine tank and we'll hope for the best.

Yep.....I definatly wouldn't order any livestock near the holidays.
Yep, I know that and I took the risk lol.
My order from DD is packed out at 10AM this morning and still waiting for pickup from UPS, their 14 days live guaranty making me not worry about it :)

Of course any delay is worrisome but I think you'll be OK at 30 hrs. Let us know.
Thanks, they're at the local distribution hub now, and should be delivered soon. Unfortunately I am at work, so the mother in law is going to put them in the quarantine tank and take pictures.

As I expected my order from DD got stuck/delayed at Ontario CA which around +/- 100 miles from my house, UPS can't provide the ETA of my order arrival yet. This is a reason I don't use UPS for shipping, I'm refer FEDEX and any online store using FEDEX are my favorite cause they always on time in any seasons for the most part.

For me, I said if I were you I just let everything in the box sealed until you got home.
I told my Dad the same that if my package delivered while I'm at work then just take it but do nothing, it's late so few more hours late won't make anything different.
BUT if your mom do something wrong = pretty much dead live stock unless she is a fish keeper too and dealing with live order before. Again! It's just my opinion :)

package was leaking water, so they're not going to deliver it. Rip first clams.

WOW

They can just choose to not deliver is liquid is leaking?
Ive had several packages leaking that Ive received...mainly from Fedex.
I hope they cover the cost and get a good whiff of the dying clams :(:(

Just a side not do not order anything LIVE from 2 weeks before Christmas to 2 weeks after Christmas. Your chances of late packages are so much higher. Thats what I do and never have problems.

EWWW, sorry to hear.
You should contact the seller right now so they can get all paper work done faster and ship out the new package, if your area has an option for Saturday delivery then use it so you can stay home wait for it or pick it up at distribution center.

You're right, I took the risk cause DD has 14 days live warranty.
UPS said my package will get delivery today. they just can not make the commitment schedule delivery time. So I might getting my package around 8PM that's meant my live stock in the bag for 34~35 hours.

This is all just putting a bad rep for online ordering, I usually almost never have issues with guys like UPS for next day shipping. I also think that the holiday season is causing some of these issues.

That sucks though, with the water leaking. Hope you get your money back.

Livestock in a cold box is never better than a quarantine tank. I would have my dog put them in the tank rather than have them sit in a cold box another minute.

The maxima was the culprit, probably a scut cut the bag. The squamosa and Lobo still had water.

The vendor packs their livestock in very good bags too, extremely strong, but sharp is sharp!

I won't be able to get to them until this evening, but at least they're warm and in a tank.

I just got the UPS information about my package, it's arrived to my area distribution center.
I will get it sometime today for sure but not at promised next day delivery time @ 10:30 AM
I knew the UPS lady usually arrive at my house around 5PM~8PM unless someone else taking care the route of overnight packages.

So a little worse for wear, but not obviously dead. But what warning signs am I looking for? I was going to keep them in the quarantine tank for a few days to just check for pyramid snails etc... But there's not really enough light, but it is clean and calm for now. Thoughts?

You don't need few days to check for pyramid snail, use magnifying glass to check the top shell and byssal hole for snails but if you bought them from reputable store then I doubt there is any snails because it will effect their entire facility...If find a snail on my order i will spreading the words out and pretty much their business and reputation will be GONE in a flash!

*UPS delivered my package at 5PM, it's late but they did win my reputation for the UPS Lady that carried my package, she handle with care and followed the instruction printed outside the box from Liveaquaria, the box did not show any signs of damages, no dent no nothing.
**DD also won my reputation cause they packed my order super well protected and they also included head pack and the heat pack still warm inside the box.
I'm temp matching now then I'll do a drip acclimation then inspect for parasites, snail then it will go in my tank. :)
***These Squamosa start open up while still in my acclimation bucket, I'll drip them and wait for my light intensity down to safe level then add them in my tank to avoid sudden light shock to them.
****So far by general overall looking, these clams are clean, their byssal hole really small and the outer shell look clean too.
