I have a flame angel and just recently got a copper band butterfly they were both in quarantine tank and the last 2 days they were fine. Fed everyone yesterday and no issues. Woke up this morning and found my copper band dead in the bottom and my flame looks like his bottom half went through ww3. I asked to verify before I bought the copper band and was told they're wouldn't be an issue. I'm tired of feeling like all I'm doing is messing up.

Any pics of the flame? Is it still alive?

Hmm… both fish are relatively peaceful. Def not aggressive enough to go Kong vs Godzilla on each other. Is/was there damage to the copperband at all? I’m wondering if there is perhaps a bobbit worm present in the tank

There were red marks on his side. I noticed it this morning. I've got 2 baby clowns and an 8 line wrasse in there as well and everyone seems peaceful or at least did seem that way.

Strange… I’m finding it hard to believe that those two battles it out to that extent. Especially overnight when they tend to find a place to hide and sleep. May want to cut your lights for a few hours and monitor your tank to see if you may have something hiding in there that only comes out at night

What could possibly be like that. I'm not familiar with it all.

Bobbit worm… google that creepy thing. They can come on live rock as a tiny hitchhiker at first, but eventually they get big and come after your sleeping fish. If they managed to hole up to sleep wherever that thing is living, it’s easy pickins

I don't think he'd have one in quarantine?

I am so confused. Was the fight in Quarantine or in display tank?
If in quarantine, how long have you had gravel in there?

I think he QT the fish prior to placing in display… there’s a zoa in the pic, so I’m assuming it’s not QT
Wife was dead set on getting coral so yes it is a qt well/display. I just feel like all I'm doing is screwing up more
