I’m maybe thinking a pest again though as this morning, the body of the filefish has disappeared

The clean up crew would be all over it to do what they are supposed to do .

i made the mistake of buying a Valencienna goby i didn't research i knew it was not eating but it was not showing signs of anything was just going round with its daily business of being a fish untill 1 day i found it dead starved to death i do currently have ich in my tank but it does not bother my fish did not have the ich when i had the goby though

How could you test oxygenation ?

Looks like you may have found your problem. Aside from buying an expensive controller/monitor, Salifert makes an O2 test.

fish do not desappear suddendly, if they do not have enough to eat. They first would become thin, and you would notice it.
Rather than brime shrimp, I have read than mysis are more nutritious, or you could alternate.

Hatch the brine or mysis .
fill their belly’s prior to feeding to fish .
But there are healthier alternatives to feed fish .
I’ve always been told mysis and brine shrimp are treats and have little required nutrition ( similar to McDonald’s ) obviously they will eat it .
and perhaps a great way to introduce feeding habits and routine but not practical for long term health

Just want to check before I do, would anyone advise against getting a new clown + some inverts today when I go to get the food ?
I don’t want the clown I have currently to get too used to being on its own and then not want a partner

Given the situation where fish keep disappearing I would personally hold off on adding anything new until you find the source of the problem .
mad mentioned before disease or possibly a hitchhiker which neither is good .

I’d strongly suggest setting up a quarantine tank for anything new and following quarantine protocol

For what type of fish? Seaweed does not suit all fish. Get some quality flakes...

Only use the auto feeder when you are not home. When you're home take the time to interact and feed your fish by hand giving you an opportunity to look them over, make sure they're eating etc. You should never be relying on an auto feeder as thier only means of food imo

Not sure where you’re
From or what’s available there .
along with pellets , seaweed , and mysis
I sometimes mix a few different things in a small container with selcon or vitachem
Be careful not to feed too much that will create tons of nutrients later

Feed both but be careful of portions for water quality. Other foods are marine cuisine, small plankton, chopped krill and formula one. Check your overflow box as fish often get through the grids and end up even in the sump through your lines.
