From those pictures it could be ick, hard to tell though.

Yeah, That was what I was thinking. But, he seems to be so much more open now that I'm not sure that he's just getting worse, or better... I have dipped him twice , And I'm not sure if I should try it again (it's been two days since the last one). Granted, it's rushed, so I'm not sure if it would've done anything at all. Thanks for the help!

If it's ick, I dont think further freshwater dips will be very beneficial to him. Tank transfer method will be the quickest way to get the fish cured of ick. Tank Transfer Method Of course leaving the tank fallow for 76 days is the only way to ensure they dont get reinfected once they go back home after treatment.

Hey, just to update: the clingfish's condition doesn't look to be any worse, nor better. But also its been showing more symptoms of...something. I can't tell if it's ich or not; there are about 6-8 blotches on its skin of grayish discoloration. I'm currently in day two of the first of four tanks in the TTM treatment. And as for good news, I know now that this species can accept frozen rotifers to wean them off of live (though this wont help muchshould the fish not be alive to eat them, so I'm open to and appreciating suggestions!). Anyway, pictures are included below:

PS:
- Sorry for the crude quality of the pictures!

He could have a bit of a secondary infection going on, but it's really hard to tell from the pictures.

Really? I've no experience with flukes (for better or for worse). Also, I have to apologize again for the pictures, but since that is the most pixels the site can fit in, I can't get the quality any better...so, other than the dip, do you guys have any other ideas? And should I stop the TTM? Thanks!

I also have dipped him in freshwater in a dark blue (almost black) cup...don't know what the white worms look like, but was pretty sure nothing fell out of his gills for eight minutes,...

Keep doing TTM for sure. I don't see any signs of flukes there.... the spots I see are too big, though they could be slight infections caused by flukes. The way to deal with that is to dose prazipro during the transfer 2 and 4.

Eight minutes is a little long for a freshwater dip. You should have seen something like this fall off

Yep, thanks. Unfortunately, I'm running a year and a half old nano 10 gallon reef, so I did not yet purchase a doser.., so any other suggestions?

You dont need a doser. Purchase Prazipro and add it to the tank the fish are in according to the directions. That's it. Easy peasy

Oh, okay, sure. But what about if it doesn't have flukes? Will this hurt it? Sorry about my inexperience, I'm usually very carefull with everything so I've only had 2 cases of illness before, and neither one died, so thanks for your time!

It won't hurt them as long as you follow the directions on the bottle and don't put too much in there. It's a fairly gentle med in my experience. Prazi is something that I recommend treating all your fish with during QT before they go into the display.

^^ Agree with using Prazipro to address the possibility of flukes. Dose it 24 hrs before the next transfer to limit exposure time. Two transfers later, dose it again. So you want to dose it at the tail end of transfers 2 & 4, or transfers 3 & 5. For example.

Alrighty then, lastly, can you tell me if I can do the prazipro on the second day of the second transfer and not the first (being the soonest I can get any)?

^^ See here. You absolutely can do it the second day of the second transfer. :)

I actually need to rewrite the TTM sticky to reflect this. There's no reason to leave a fish in Prazipro for 72 hrs, when 24 hrs is all that's needed to get the job done. Only 24 hrs exposure time might save med sensitive fish (especially wrasses) from an untimely demise.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates, but all has been well, and I've also been busy with school...anyway, everything is fine in my display tank, and in the TTM, I'm now only slightly worried for the clingfish. I might've overdosed the prazipro because of an accident, but not by much... That was 4 days ago. It is now the last day of the second transfer, and he has been behaving the same for the duration of all the transfers (I don't know if this is normal). He also behaved the same during the last day of transfer 2, when I had him on Prazipro (also don't know if this is normal). The only thing that worries me is that the blotches of discolor have now spread, albeit his usual temperament. I still don't know of any diseases with this symptom, so I am clueless as to what treatment should be. Please share your insights and advisements, and thanks as always.

I just don't know enough about clingfish to be able to say if it's normal. Hopefully somebody else does. I wonder if it's like a foxface that gets blotchy with stress? Could be that it's just a byproduct of QT in which case, it would go away when it gets in the DT. I'm just not sure though.
