i have a blue eyed Benny ( large six inches) that jumped onto net
I caught him on my tank top net probably twenty minutes or so.
I put him in the tank holding him and trying to forced water through his gills
He was breathing after a while but just sank to the bottom
Fighting to swim
Is his swim bladder damaged and any suggestions

I’ve not had many marine fish survive being out for more than a few minutes. I hope this one does, though :(

He’s breathing, but just laying on the sand trying to swim but can’t
I think at this point all you can do is monitor it and hope for the best. Be ready to remove it if things turn ugly. Sorry to hear about your fish.

You can get him in your hand and slowly move him forward in the water for awhile....just slowly back and forth always head in front.... this makes it much easier for him to move water through the gills.... best case he starts to feel better and takes off out of your hand. Just be gentle holding him as obviously they are delicate. Best of luck..

I did all the above let him lay at the bottom of the tank but the crabs knew he was going and attacked him. I didn’t have my QT tank set up so I decided to euthanize him. I put him in a bowl and added some clove oil to it slowly

I really like him too.
I got him free he was a bkenny/ dragonette ver long and skinny brown with blue eyes if anyone can ID him thanks

:( Sorry....

I'm sorry.
Now I realized this is a good reason to keep your QT tank going all the time.
I thought ah if I had a sick fish ( for example it would take me what half hour to put my QT tank up.
But the crabs didn’t waste anytime attacking him. Whether it was he was just there and he couldn’t move
Or he was already dying I don’t know

I can't hit the Like button for a loss and such. :( Maybe a 'sad or dislike button' would be good on the forum for bad news.

Again, I am truly sorry.

So you dislike it because you think he may have had a chance and I didn’t have a QT set up I’m sorry too that I didn’t believe me.
I’m a animal lover of all type and I dearly love my pets if that’s what you are referring too
But Thanks
Oh and here is my tank

No I don't believe that's what he meant, he dislikes that your fish died and didn't want to hit the like button under your fish dying post.
Thanks I thought that’s what he was referring to. I hope he didn’t think I was flaming him
