Yes I do, typo there. Yeah the other one still looks good, maybe a bit sad because his buddy is gone but still attentive and active.

Then I wouldn't panic and think of some disease, sometimes these things just happen with no good explanation.

if you didn't qt the fishes, chances are the other one will die too. They might have brook, or velvet, or flukes, anything is fair game. I know you are new and excited to add fishes to the tank but please read up on proper QT threads, otherwise your fish will die if you just keep on adding.

Good thing theres only a total of 2 fish (now 1, sorry for your loss btw) but you can pretty much start over very easily compare to ppl who had a tank wipe and lost 8-9 fish and 2k down the drain. (I am speaking from experience)

Where did you buy the clownfish from? How long were they in a bag? And how exactly did you acclimate them to your tank?

I bought them from a pretty reputable LFS, not in the car for more than 30 mins, temp acclimated and put a bit of tank water in the bag every 15 mins or so for about an hour. I got the fish about a week ago and both looked okay for the first few days where the one that died stopped eating.

I have had a fairy wrasse from Diver's Den come down with ich after spending a week in the qt by himself.

I am not saying your LFS is bad and intentionally sell you a sick fish, I actually think if the owner knew that the fish was sick or was carrying something he wouldn't have sold it to you. But fish stores have a fast turn over for their livestocks so they themselves might not even catch it before the fish was sold to a customer, there is just no way they can guarantee a fish is disease free so you have to take it upon yourself to make sure. A qt tank is good way to observe and treat with meds if anything shows up.

I like to treat prophylactically with 2 rounds of prazi and then 28 days of copper (with exception to some delicate wrasses) and then I add them to the tank. As for the qt set up its very simple, 10-20 gallon tank with some sort of cover, a heater, a hob filter, a seeded sponge to put in your hob filter, thats pretty much it.

How much circulation is in your tank? Also, what temperature is being kept at? If the temperature is too high, the water loses much of its ability to retain dissolved oxygen. Your fish were, "gasping" for air it sounded like. If there is not enough circulation , or if there is a cover over your tank, there might not be enough oxygen entering your system.

Ive got a 30 gallon all in one and a skimmer. Temp is 76 and i have about 600gph of flow from the return pumps

Is there "disturbance" at the surface of the water? Like flow breaking the surface? This creates good gas exchange for more available O2.

Yes and there are baffles in the back Chambers. I have a screen lid as well.
