I am looking to add a reef safe fish to my tank but want something with nice color and personality.

I'd greatly appreciate your experience and input!

Current setup:
55 gallon RSR
(2) ocellaris clowns
1- yellow tail damsel
1- diamond goby

Flasher wrasse, dottybacks would be my choice!

You might consider a midas blenny - pretty much always up and about in the water column (at least, mine is...), lots of personality and they move in a way that few other fish do. Also provide a nice "pop" of yellow, with just a hint of orange to it.

I also think a Midas Blenny would be a great addition. They can be found mostly yellow or with what I think is a beautiful pink/brown fade from the overall yellow. If your aquascape allows it you might be lucky enough to get its 'den' in a prime location. Of all my fish people always ask about the one that swims into the rock.

Midas blenny seems to be a great fish. Are these fish easy to find at a LFS or is it easier to have one shipped?

The African Midas Blenny can be a little difficult to find depending on seasonal availability, but I think the fish is popular enough to be a staple in most LFS.

Blenny for algea control, also have a personality. Last one would lay in my hand in the tank. Like a little dog. A 6 line wrasse is also very fun. chromis is my favorite fish. Schools and is super hardy.

I've found the majority of sixlines to become aggressive.

I second the suggestions of midas blenny and flame hawk. I also recommend a royal gramma and yellow coris wrasse.

I'm finding it difficult to find any midas blenny's at my LFS. Also a bit difficult on line as well.

The LFS does have a flame hawk and i might consider getting one. Can the flame hawk hold it own against damsels?

The flame hawk can hold it's own. You're damsels aren't too bad as far as aggression goes.

Here is another suggestion. This was just added to our QT last night. He/she has Egyptian eyeliner as my wife pointed out. Very cute pearl goby. Very expressive eyes.

If you have lots of sand and home for the pearly jawfish, they are great and fun. I have a falco hawkfish and has been perfect (I have no shrimp though due to puffer and now triggers). My falco comes out every time I come to the tank like a dog and begs for food. He is fat! I love the midas blenny idea for a 55g. The lawnmower blennies also have great personalities and are fun to watch. Need lot so algae for them to eat though.

Maybe an orchid dottyback? I love mine and the bright purple really pops.
