Fish room under way

Thanks I started one of the two sections for the stand today. It isn't much just the basic frame. Tomorrow I will be framing out the doors adding the cross members and boards to mount dosing pumps and reactors. I will post pics when I have one framed out and ready for finishwork. Unfortunately I have to work Sunday but it's not all bad I get to jump out of an air plane

I got the tank back from being drilled and decided I should reseal it. There was only about 1/16 of an inch of cilicone left in a few places. Now was the time to do it instead of a few months or a year down the road. I am getting frustrated only getting 15 min here and an hour there to work on this. I would love to have water in this thing about a month ago

Well I was able to spend a couple hours on the left half of the stand today. I have to. All that is left is to finish the bead board skin, cut the plywood for the top, and build the door/doors (haven't decided one big or two small). Leaning towards two small. I have places to mount my reactors, dosing pumps and power strips.

Oh and I need to get rid of that couch and love seat LOL

Got some work in yesterday and today
I leak tested and moved the 75 and sump into place. Plumbing is cut and dry fit for it as well. moving along and finally can see the fruits of the labor. I need to get this guy wet, pick up some sand and start moving the live rock in. I will be making the doors this week and plumb in the reactors. I might even move the 20 that will become the display fuge.

Room Is looking great! I Install tile for a living and must agree that that can be some of the trickiest tile to install. Looks like you did a great job. Can't wait to see more progress.

Thanks guys. I am starting to get nervous about transitioning the 55 into the 75 now. I rehomed my few SPS frags for the move. They werent too happy in my current tank. I will bring them back once thie transition is complete and all my parameters have been steady. One of the benefits of having another friend with a reef 5 min away. Though we are bad influences on eachother. LOL

Cool and great job!

Yeah that one looks out of place I should have the 20 in and running next to it tomorrow or the next day. I broke it down today. All of the rock are in a bucket with a heater and 2 small pumps. Then I need to get about 80 lbs of sand for the display tank and display fuge. Once that's all running I can move my 55 into the 75 then set the 55 as a frag tank on the far left. Should fill that wall pretty well.

My wife and I loved the tile period we were just fortunate that it complimented the purpose of the room well. It looks like an old dock

Yeah there is water in what will become the display fuge. Right now it is home fore some cycled rock for the DT. Now I have to get the doors built to keep kids and cats out of the sump. LOL

Ok finished one door (still needs paint) and built one mesh screen for the top. I have four more mesh screens to make then thee egg crate will be gone forever. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the base board trimmed down and all of the trim painted as well as the other door built. Ordering the salt and lock line, then it wilk be time to move some rock and then the fish and coral. Getting close but still a lot more to go. Especially when trying to balance with family time.

And the stand for my QT tank. I might convert it to a table and put the QT under the left side of the stand. Not sure yet.

Some people paint the screen black to make it less noticeable.
Thanks. I might give that a shot.

Does anyone have experience with floating canopies. I am thinking about going that route so I still have easy access to the tanks but it hides the fact that I will be running 3 separate and different brand lights for the foreseeable future

Opinions please

I am not sure if I am sold on the white trim around the doors.

Yes I am aware only one is hanging. The other will be in place tomorrow along with my dual reactors underneath.
